What kind of scooters?

This page lacks information if it is also meant for electric vehicles or only for "manual" kick-scooters. Because for e-scooters we also have Tag:amenity=small_electric_vehicle_parking. Discostu36 (talk) 07:09, 29 August 2025 (UTC)

If I interpret this correctly, kick scooters are only manually powered. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:kick_scooter

Could it be possible in reality that manual kick scooters are permitted, but electric ones are forbidden? Or vice versa? Mcliquid (talk) 08:46, 29 August 2025 (UTC)

Shared with dockless bicycles?

My city has both e-scooters and dockless bicycles. City authorities have painted several parking areas, which are designated to indiscriminately store any combination of them. (example picture) In some of those areas, bicycle stands have been installed.

Should we allow extra tags to say this? Or can we assume that amenity=kick-scooter_parking means a generic parking area for small vehicles, typically kick-scooters but not just them? Bxl-forever (talk) 01:01, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

For stands, we can suggest the following convention: bicycle_parking=stands if there are stands or bicycle_parking=floor if there aren’t any. This key is optional. Bxl-forever (talk) 20:47, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
