Talk:Tag:aeroway=terminal
On Useful combination collumn, at the right of the wiki page, building=yes is suggested as a tag to be used in combination with aeroway=terminal. The Article suggests however building=transportation, which seems much more adequate. Shouldn't building=yes be replaced by building=transportation on the right side collumn?
- That sounds good for me. Kocio (talk) 03:57, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- There's also
building=airport_terminalhas about 200 uses but no documentation. Aharvey (talk) 04:54, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
Tagging which airlines service a terminal
For example at Sydney Airport we have Terminal 2 serviced by Jetstar + Virgin Australia and Terminal 3 serviced by Qantas and REX. These had been assigned name=Terminal 2 - Jetstar / Virgin and name=Terminal 3 - Qantas / REX but this isn't machine readable and slightly abusing the name=* key for something that's more akin to a description. Therefore I've used airline=Jetstar;Virgin + airline:iata=JQ;VA + airline:wikidata=Q767627;Q727074 to tag the airlines on the terminal. This would allow a map to display a small logo for each airline along with the terminal name/ref. This may be problematic for international terminals which are serviced by many airlines so unsure if it should be tagged there too or left to an external database.
