Sister application?

What's the relation between OSMTracker (android) and OSMTracker (Windows Mobile)? This page says it's "the sister application", but I see in this edit on the other page, Mr Tux is denying this relationship. I was going to suggest that the OSMTracker page be renamed "OSMTracker (Windows Mobile)", largely to avoid confusion for people trying to find this page... but maybe I'd be stirring up trouble be doing so :-O - Harry Wood (talk) 15:48, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Sister project or not, we surely need a disambiguation page like Wikipedia, given that both programs have the same name, and (arguably!) Android is more relevant because it's more used worldwide. --Nighto (talk) 18:54, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Yeah. Mr Tux is definitely not happy about the naming situation though... awkward. -- Harry Wood (talk) 12:26, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm after creating a disambiguation page, at OSMTracker, in line with standard WP practice. Tongro (talk) 13:05, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Send Track by eMail

it would be nice to send gpx direct by email to userdefine-email-adress. --Lübeck (talk) 06:02, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

audio file format

It appears (need to confirm) Osmtracker does not support WAV exports. This means a file conversion step is needed before importing to JOSM. -- SwiftFast (talk) 10:35, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Oauth2 login issues (is this project dead?)

Track file location

For each new track, a subdirectory is created in the dedicated OSMTracker directory, which by default is typically on the SD/USB storage in osmtracker/. While pictures and audio annotations are written immediately into this subdirectory, the track itself has to be exported explicitly. To do so, select the track in the tracklist so you see the "Track Details", modify the name if necessary.

Still being in the "Track Details", go to the context menu and select "Export as GPX", and it will be written in the respective subdirectory. Alternatively, touch+hold the respective track name to open a context menu. (Please note that "Save" means not exporting yet. Could the developer please explain where the track is being hold before exporting.) (Edit: I'm not the developer, but it looks to be in a SQLite database if I've skim read the code correctly --EdLoach (talk) 08:02, 19 July 2013 (UTC))

Note: According to this page, OSMTracker cannot save files on an SD card: "Most recent Android devices will not allow the saving of data in an external microSD or SD card. Although referred to as ‘external storage’ the tracks etc will actually be recorded in /storage/emulated/0/osmtracker."

On some versions of android this will now actually be under: Internal shared storage/Android/data/net.osmtracker/files/osmtracker

As of version 2025.02, the default storage folder has been moved to documents[1] (/storage/emulated/0/documents) which is accessible by the user. AngocA (talk) 17:31, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

How is this "discussion"? This is just documenting the current status of the app. --InsertUser (talk) 19:59, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
