Questions

• Could you document diameter:range=* in the OSM Wiki?
• Why did you choose do use tree:ref=* instead of just ref=*?

• I have added a page for diameter:range=*.
• To keep it consistent with the wide usage of bridge:ref=* in Amsterdam (50% of all the bridges in Amsterdam are tagged with this tag). And also usage of tree:ref=* vs ref=* on trees in The Netherlands is about 50/50. So they're both in use already.
