A 'mini' traffic signal, mounted in the normal place above the intersection, that flashes yellow if you have right-of-way and red if you must stop. They are distinct in that they often lack the other phases of that a traditional signal would have.
They are usually accompanied by a stop sign if the light is flashing red and do not necessarily flash red on all sides. Some sides may be yellow.
