Denotes a historic element of a railway station. There are two current uses with it: To denote a historic=railway_station as historic or to denote a former railway station as historic.

Uses for station buildings

historic=railway_station (in place of historic=building) is often used to denote that a building=train_station if of historical relevance. For some former stations, the building is the only remnant left since the tracks have been dismantled and the platforms demolished.

Note that the station itself can still very much be in use today, what's relevant in this situation is that the building is historic.

Uses for railway station

Former stations can also be tagged onto a disused:railway or abandoned:railway=station/halt since a lot of these station still have a historic relevance. This tagging is the most useful if tracks and platforms are still existent and the building isn't the only thing left from this station if it hasn't been demolished already.
