Many cemeteries are very big, so they are divided into sectors (sections, blocks, etc). Each sector has hundreds of graves.

Cemetery section usually have an identifier, but can have a dedicated name.

How to map

To create a section of a cemetery, graveyard, necropolis: draw the outline of the area area of the sector and add:

Tag history

Was rejected in the initial vote (see Proposed features/Cemetery sector). Is now in use across Europe, with quite high number of tagged objects. It is supported in some presets and some renders (see below).

Rendering

Cemetery sectors are not rendered by Carto (see open issue). They are rendered by the Tracestack Topo tiles and OsmAnd.
