A show house (also known as a model home or display home) is one of the first houses in a residential development (landuse=residential), which the builder uses as a showcase for the options and amenities that they offer to build for customers. It is essentially a "showroom" for a mass-manufactured model of house.
How to find it
If you have access to the residential development (or to aerial or street-level imagery) while it is still incomplete, look for a house near the entrance to the development. In some regions, such as the suburban United States, the show house will typically have a front walk instead of a driveway, perhaps with a small parking lot nearby or flagpoles in front.
Usage of this tag is expected to be relatively low. By design, a show house blends in with other houses after the development is complete, so we can only tag it if we get lucky and notice it in time.
How to map it
Tag the building as building=show_house instead of building=house. Set builder=* to the homebuilder's company name and model=* to the model name, if known.
If the show house doubles as the homebuilder's office on site, add office=construction_company and set name=* to the name the homebuilder uses for the office.
Once the homebuilder vacates the show house and sells it, remember to remove any details about the office and update any details around the house, such as a new driveway.
