An amenity=study_room has the primary purpose of providing a place for a number of people to study, also known as a study area or study space. It will almost certainly provide tables and desks, and may provide computers, power sockets, and/or Wi-Fi access.

Study rooms will mostly be found in universities, colleges, or as community spaces open to the general public, e.g. La Cápsula in Málaga, Spain (website, OSM). They are usually a single room, but could span multiple rooms.

Not to be confused with a study, which is the name of a private room used by one person or a household for work or reading.

Tags to use in combination

• access=* - E.g. access=private if it can only be used by students of a particular institution, or access=yes if it is for the general public.
• opening_hours=*
• name=* - If the study room has a specific name.
• operator=*
• capacity=* - The number of people who can use the study room at once. Can likely be determined by counting the number of chairs.
• service:computer=yes - If computers are available for use.
• service:print=yes - If a printing service is provided.
• internet_access=* - Describes if the study area offers internet access.
  • Use internet_access=terminal if computers are available to use, with internet access.
  • Optionally, add detail with internet_access:fee=*, internet_access:operator=*, or internet_access:ssid=*.

• amenity=library - Libraries can also be used for studying, but unlike simple study rooms, also allow borrowing or reading books.
