Descarga Catastro is a web tool that allows the direct download of cadastral data from the Spanish Cadastre by selecting a rectangular area (bounding box) on a map.
The tool uses the WFS service of the Dirección General del Catastro and is aimed at facilitating the rapid acquisition of geometries for later review and import into OpenStreetMap.

Operation
The use of the tool is based on the following steps:
- Access https://descarga-catastro.openstreetmap.es/
- Navigate to the area of interest.
- Draw a rectangle (bounding box) on the map.
- Download the data in GeoJSON format or load it directly into JOSM using the corresponding option.
The Load into JOSM option requires the editor to be open and properly configured to accept remote connections.
Available data
The download includes the following types of cadastral elements:
- Buildings
- Building parts
- Other constructions (for example, swimming pools)
Address data are not included and must be obtained by other means.
Use within the import workflow
Descarga Catastro does not replace the main tool https://catastro.openstreetmap.es/ but rather acts as a complementary tool focused on the rapid acquisition of data in specific areas.
