craft=*, not shop=*?

Nice idea, but wondering if it would possibly be better as a craft=*, rather than a shop=*? & just looking, it turns out there are actually 15 x craft=gunsmith in use! (Taginfo) --Fizzie41 (talk) 23:14, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

I didn't know about craft=*, but having read a bit more it makes more sense. Another benefit of craft=gunsmith is that it could be combined with shop=gun for places that offer both. Perhaps I should close this proposal and open another with craft? Or is it possible to rename a page? --Sa2tms (talk) 23:57, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

This was also my thought, that it could be "craft=gunsmith", may make it a little more international-friendly. Many gunsmiths near me are also assigned to other sporting shops or firearms shops. Not that I would be against a dedicated shop=gunsmith tag. --O0235 (talk) 00:13, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

Added craft=gunsmith to the wiki

I've added gunsmith to Template:Map_Features:craft and also added craft=gunsmith.
