Privacy of bathrooms
Proposal status: Draft (under way)
Proposed by: JuanElDemografo
Tagging: bathroom:privacy=*
Statistics:

Draft started: 09:22, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

Rationale

It's been suggested that the privacy of suite bathrooms be tagged. This would involve the key bathroom:privacy=* with the values:

  • full For when the bathroom is fully separated from the rest of the suite,
  • translucent When the bathroom is separated by glass door or walls,
  • partial For when there are significant gaps that let sound through or could be seen through,
  • none Fully open to the rest of the suite or transparent glass walls/door.

If multiple levels of privacy are present in a hotel, that may be indicated with multiple values separated by semicolon. In practice this is likely to be rare since most hotels have identical furnishings from room to room. Additionally, check_date:bathroom:privacy=* should also be included.
