Workshop in OpenStreetMap
On October 16, 2025, the Department of Forestry at Sir Syed College, Taliparamba, in collaboration with the Sir Syed Free Open Source Software Club (SSFOSS), successfully conducted a one-day workshop on "Introduction to OpenStreetMap" at the college's IT Centre.
The session was expertly led by resource person Sri. Manoj Karingamadathil of the OpenStreetMap Kerala Community. He provided students with a comprehensive theoretical introduction and a practical hands-on training session on using the open-source mapping platform, focusing on applications relevant to forestry and environmental conservation.
The insightful program effectively equipped participants with valuable skills in modern geospatial technology. Head of the Department Azhar Ali A presided the program. Mrs. Sneha C delivered the welcome speech.
