Public Warning Siren

The "KaWaCHaM" siren system in Kerala is an advanced disaster warning system that uses sirens and strobe lights to alert the public to extreme weather events like heavy rainfall, strong winds, and sea surge. Launched by the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority, the project involves installing 126 sirens on tall buildings and schools, which are equipped with loudspeakers and lights to broadcast warnings and information about safety precautions up to 1.2 km away.
