Kaart: Achavi/sandbox

Introduction
Achavi is an analysis tool where the user can review a changeset to see if an edit is of good quality. This tool is used across a variety of different teams and projects. This training will serve as a guide on how to use Achavi and it will explain why it's a useful tool that you should know how to use.
Prerequisites
- Understanding of OSM tagging/editing.
Skill Instruction
Achavi can be accessed two ways:
- From the JOSM history window
- Using the URL
JOSM History Window
To navigate to Achavi via the history window:
- Select the feature.
- Use the hotkey
Ctrl + Hto open the history window. - Click on the dropdown next to Changeset
- Select Open achavi (Augmented OSM Change Viewer)
- This will pull up the changeset in Achavi so you can see the visual changes of the changeset.

Using the URL
To navigate to Achavi via the URL click here.
- This will take you to base site where you can enter a search query.
- To search for a specific changeset enter the following link and add the changeset id after changeset=.
https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=- This will load the changeset into Achavi so you can see the visual changes.

After the changeset loads in Achavi, you will see color coded geometry being highlighted inside of a bounding box. You can expand the Legend in the bottom left corner of the tool to better understand the color coding.
The Legend is as follows:

To view an objects metadata:
- Hover over the object.
- A small pop up window will appear over the object where your mouse cursor is.
- Click on the object.
- This will pull up the pop up and keep it in place.
The pop up window will contain details for the previous and the current object history.
The following list is an example of what you may see in the pop up:
- The type of edit that was made.
- A timestamp for when the edit was created.
- Who the user was.
- What the object version number was.
- The changeset ID.
- Tag key combinations.
You also have the option to load this data into JOSM/ID Editor. These options can be found at the bottom of the pop up.

Using the Tool
You can use this tool in a couple different ways depending on what you are looking for.
Inspecting Changesets
This is the most common use for this tool since it gives you a visual representation of the changes that were made in a changeset. To pull up a changeset follow the steps listed above using either the JOSM history window or by using the using the URL.

Be as thorough as you need to be to fully understand the situation you are investigating.
Custom Queries
This tool also allows you to do custom queries.
To use a custom query:
- Use the bounding box(bbox) or zoom in on an area of interest.
- Enter the time frame you want to query for.
- Use
YYYY-MM-DD HH:mmfor each date.
- Use
- Click Load to run the query.
- You can bookmark the link to set a Permalink to continue monitoring data for that location. Simply open the link and click Load each time.
This is useful for monitoring data changes or viewing historical edits.
