Nashik is a city in the northern region of the Indian state of Maharashtra situated on the banks of the river Godavari, about 165 km (103 mi) northeast of Mumbai.

Historical and Cultural Significance

Nashik has a rich history dating back to ancient times, mentioned in Indian epics like the Ramayana. It is an important religious destination with the holy Godavari River and temples like Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. It is located near iconic destinations like Shirdi, Ajanta-Ellora caves, and Mumbai, making it a central point for regional exploration. Weather

Mild Temperatures: At the end of January, Nashik typically experiences mild and pleasant weather, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) and cooler nights dropping to around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F).

Low Humidity and Clear Skies: The humidity levels are generally low during this time, and the skies are often clear, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

Kumbha-mela Gathering

By the end of 2026, the Kumbh Mela—the largest religious mass gathering in the world—will take place in Nashik. Our event timing in January 2026, offers a unique opportunity for attendees to explore the holy sites and delve into the region’s rich history without encountering the typical crowds. Additionally, the government’s preparations for the Kumbh Mela will enhance the overall experience, as the area will be beautifully prepared and well-maintained.
