Why are they an excellent choice? Candidate Statement
Brazilsingh (Brazil Singh on osm, edits, contrib, heatmap, chngset com.) Brazil Singh Bangladeshi I am an excellent choice for the HOT Board of Directors because of my leadership within the OpenStreetMap communities, and related organizations. Over the past years, I have actively contributed as a mapper, trainer, and community organizer, serving in roles such as Regional Ambassador for YouthMappers, Open Mapping Guru at the Asia Pacific Hub, and Voting Member of HOT. My communication experience with OSMF and HOT, enable me to bridge gaps between technology, local communities, and global strategy. My name is Brazil Singh, and I am honored to nominate myself for the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) Board of Directors. I want to ensure that communities from the Global South, where mapping is often most needed, have a stronger voice in HOT’s decision-making. I also bring technical skills in GIS, web development, and digital communication, along with experience in community mobilization and governance, which I will use to support HOT’s strategy, fundraising, and partnerships.
Saïd Abou Kharroub (CivAPI) Sam Colchester Lebanese Saïd is relatively new on HOT's scene, becoming a Voting Member this year, but he's had an outsized impact, doing more to build a Lebanon OSM community in several months than many of us could dream to do in many years. Saïd has also been consulting on HOT’s damage mapping project in Lebanon and so has direct experience with the inner workings of the organization and its global community. Saïd is proactive, and puts himself fully into things to get them done, and done well. For this reason among others he'd be a very valuable Board Member for HOT. I am deeply honored to be nominated for the HOT Board. Having been a member of this community for a long time, I've seen firsthand how OpenStreetMap's data is not just a map—it's a lifeline for people in crisis.

My journey, from leading data-driven humanitarian responses at the United Nations to being an adviser to a geospatial intelligence startup, has shown me the immense power of accessible, high-quality data. I've personally leveraged this data to support vulnerable communities, whether it was mapping damaged buildings after the Beirut Port Explosion or creating assessments based on displaced data in Afghanistan. My recent work with HOT on mapping initiatives in Lebanon further solidified my belief in community-led, local action.

Sam's kind words about my efforts to build the Lebanon OSM community resonate with my core belief: localization is key to long-term impact. As a board member, I will champion a strategic focus on strengthening regional hubs, ensuring that communities have the resources and autonomy to lead their own mapping initiatives. I am a pragmatic doer, unafraid of hard and complex situations, and I believe my dual experience in both humanitarian operations and tech innovation positions me to guide HOT toward more strategic and sustainable growth. I am ready to bring my energy, expertise, and a fresh perspective to the board to help ensure that HOT continues to be a driving force in making a difference where it's needed most.

Kuo-Yu "slayer" Chuang Nate Smith Taiwan [From Nate] Slayer has been a supportive and thoughtful member of the Board throughout his tenure. As a long-standing member of HOT, he has shown dedication and passion for ensuring the organization’s success. Over the past year as Vice President, Slayer demonstrated a strong understanding of how to support the organization, and I hope to see him re-elected to the Board. I am/was in the HOT board from 2017 to 2018, then from 2023 to 2025 as vice president. As an entrepreneur of a software-based social enterprise, still think my experience and expertise can help, that's why I would love to run for another term to contribute to HOT for the transition of organization, strategy, and also the busienss model.

Why are they an excellent choice? Candidate Statement
Tsongo Muluba Bienvenue Pete Masters DRC Muluba has done a great job over the last two years and I know that he would like to continue in the role. I think he will do an even better job if he is elected for second term. The consistency and his experience will be highly valuable. I am deeply honored to be nominated as HOTOSM chairperson for the second term.

I confirm my commitment to these two new years. Based on the previous two years, I have strengthened my understanding of the importance of the role of voting members in the governance and growth of HOTOSM's administration. My new commitment is to strengthen voting member involvement through various hubs and working groups. Thank you for the trust you will place in me by voting for me for this second term.
