Delhi/Buses/Import/Plan

Import of cluster bus routes in Delhi is an import of DIMTS dataset which is of type bus route relation covering Delhi in India. The import is currently as of 10 July 2025 at the planning stage.

Goals

The project will automatically import all of the cluster bus routes in Delhi according to the DIMTS database.

Schedule

• Create the first community post (Date to be added)
• Create the scripts
• Create another post for review on the scripts
• Start the automatic import
• Create the final post for review

Import Data

The data will be derived from businfo.dimts.in and dimts.in. The former provides the list of bus stops in each route. The latter provides the list of routes.

OSM attribution (if required): No

Background

The data license was clarfied under RTI ID xxxx. People who want to get a copy of this conversation can request it by filing another RTI with the Delhi government.

Request:

Kindly, Provide me with following data:

1. The name, coordinates and infrastructure status (availability of benches, shelter, wheelchair access, and tactile pavings) of all bus stops in Delhi. 2. All bus routes with thier names and the stops they pass through in sequential order. 3. Clarify, If the above provided data can be considered to be in public domain. If not, then provide a reason.

Data Merge Workflow

Team Approach

Currently KhubsuratInsaan and Prateekk724 are in the team.

Conflation

The import wouldn't touch bus route relations which already exist in the OSM database. For bus stops that exist in the DIMTS database but not in OSM database, a new node will be made.

Usually multiple bus stops with the same name exist in the same neighbourhood. These bus stops will be ignored during the import.

QA

The team would make multiple requests for review on the forums and the XMPP groups.
