Dear Tanker3278,
Recently there has been quite some fuzz about the edits your are making to OSM, “Location Updates” as you call them.
You can read everything here again:
https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=13700251There are problems which resulted in your edits being reverted by others, as you can see here: changeset/157568009.
From what I (being a member of the DWG) have seen and read sofar, is that you are adding buildings to OSM, but they all have the same (rectangular) shape, not representing their real world shape. Then, at some later point your are fixing that shape to get the buildings their true shape.
You might have the idea that that is an accepted way of adding buildings, but in the OSM world it is not. If you add a building it should be correct as soon as you add it. You can add stuff later (like address details etc.), but the shape should be correct.Other mappers have pointed you to that, but your reply to them was rather rude and not an accepted way of helping others, as OSM members expect to be treated. Maybe you should think a bit about your method of replying?
The DWG would like to know from you if we are correct in assuming that you add buildings as a simple rectangular shape that you later transform to the correct shape. If that is correct, then we ask from you to stop using that practice and import buildings right from the start with their correct shape, and also we ask from you to correct asap the allready imported buildings that have their shape wrong.
Please send us your reply at [email protected], using Ticket#2024101110000254 as the subject of your e-mail to us.
Your account is now blocked to have you read this message, but as soon you have done so you can continue and fix the issues that are still open.
Although the DWG cannot prevent others from reverting your edits, we hope that they are aware of our interference and give you the time to “fix” your work.Best regards,
Marc Zoutendijk
