Hi jajanja3,

Could you please avoid placing excessive nodes on lines, please? It makes the area really hard to work with especially if you're working with small features like fences and tight bends etc. It'd be much appreciated.

Best regards

If National Highways are being too vague about the actual speed limit of a roundabout (it isn't as if you'll reach the limit on one anyway) then I'd suggest that we should tag roundabouts as 60 mph where one or more of the arms are single carriageways (e.g. the A4102 here) and 70 mph where all of the arms are dual carriageway (e.g. M25 J2/Darenth Interchange). It might be better to do a blanket 60 mph rule per what Nathan_A_RF says to make it easier since the latter example is much rarer than the former example in the UK at least. Legal documentation or design guidelines would be very useful in this case as a way to determine how we should map it on OSM, which I think Nathan has alluded to here.

Hi mapeing/demise,

I've reverted this changeset as the roadworks at Key Street have not yet been completed. In fact, I think preparatory works just started. Please do not make fantasy edits like these to OSM again - they're very disruptive and can be hard to clean up properly.

Happy mapping,
Yasslay

changed to access=private changeset/159768504

I’d say it’s permissive for this reason. You could change it to access=no or private if you like!

Hi,

The link between Lower Road and Weaver Avenue is a footpath. Aerial imagery in this area is slightly outdated.

Wonderful, thanks rskedgell! I'll add those at some point, probably.

Reverted because these highways are drawn incorrectly. Single carriageways should be drawn as one single line despite any hatching or islands ─ distinct from brief sections of dual carriageway.

Hi,

Why did you separate the A226 into two separate ways? I don't think this is the case on the ground, no?

Best regards,

Please don't apologise! I did the same with roads around Edinburgh at one point in my career, lol. The Wiki oftentimes doesn't have documentation of the consensus but you can usually find it or start a discussion on the OSM Community Forum to find the consensus. As far as I know, we tag test tracks as highway=service no matter the standard they're built to for navigational and aesthetic reasons.

I'd just like to add that I mainly relied upon cross-referencing the general arrangement diagrams with OSM rather than the CGI flythroughs.

150148504 about 1 year ago

It is from the CGI flythroughs and general arrangement diagrams, however, I have made sure that the layout is reflected as closely as possible on OSM by cross referencing the data with OSM itself (not overlaying it, identifying key points, e.g. curves, and aligning it in reference to the existing geometry) Are there any other questions you’d like to ask? I would also like to add that, if the material is incompatible with OSM due to copyright reasons, then please feel free to revert. I believe that it should be though, however, I am not certain so feel free to check.

Sorry for the chopped off comment above. I have reverted the changes you've made to the map in this changeset for the reasons outlined above ─ this is against community consensus in the UK. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! You can always start a discussion at the OSM Community Forum if you feel that a review of the community consensus should change.
