| 172834604 | 2 months ago | Hi there. According to the OSM wiki (highway=cycleway) bike lanes that are not physically separated from the rest of the roadway should be mapped as attributes on the existing highway=* and not as their own separate ways. As far as I can tell, the bike lanes involved in this changeset are all part of the road and the majority of them have already been added as attributes to the highway. I think it would be best if the cycleway ways were removed and the tagging improved on the main highway=* as needed. Let me know what you think. Thanks! |
| 172663399 | 3 months ago | Hi Jeff, thanks for your recent edits to OSM. I just wanted to mention two points: 1) When mapping crosswalks, it is really helpful to join them to the way they are crossing and tag the node as highway=crossing so it is clear that there is a junction between the two nodes (rather than a bridge or tunnel). This can help with routing etc. 2) It is also helpful to create crossings that are connected to other sidewalks at the ends otherwise they are "islands" that are disconnected from other infrastructure. Likewise, this also helps with routing. Thanks! |
