Chippenham, Wilts, England

Been mapping some of the town, whole areas of housing estates are still blank spaces here, which is slowly being put right.

Something I noticed while using OpenRouteService.org. It's an online route planner. When checking out various routes around my town, I found that many connecting ways, road and foot, were not actually connected by a common node, so it made for some strange round-the-houses routes. Having corrected quite a few, I can tell you it's MUCH easier to make sure ways are connected to adjacent ways when you add them, rather than try to connect them afterwards.

As one of the big uses of GPS isn't so much "Where am I?" as "How do I get there?", having the ways connected properly will help enormously with that.

Have a look at keepright.ipax.at/report_map.php
It's a great online tool to find bugs in OSM data...

Happy mapping :-)

Use the JOSM Validator plugin to find most of such issues.
