If you want to go even deeper mapping the elementary school adding the "pitches" on the blacktop (four square, basketball, etc) and there's even a key for the map they've drawn: playground=map

The trees really do make it seem more lively. Nice work!

Totally sensible. Thanks!

done!

Happy to take care of it. Likely tomorrow. I appreciate the clarity. Happy mapping!

The water park here looks great. Nice work!

I was doing some very minor tagging changes and noticed how nice the park and stuff looked around here. Great work!

Even today, intermittent water areas are a bit of a pain point in the tagging scheme. I suppose it depends on the size of the feature etc but I think the current prescribed way to do this is natural=water, water=pond, intermittent=yes.

I am tempted to make leave these as nodes but with natural=water water=waterhole intermittent=yes. That at least preserves the info we care about and it can get sorted a bit better later.

waterway=yes is just a mishmosh of stuff today that's a huge improvement.

Does that seem sensible? I'll ponder it a bit more before doing anything. Maybe genius will strike.

This is an old edit but any idea what the waterway tag for this item should be? way/449227485/history it looks like a misspelling but I couldn't work it out.

Thanks!

Sorry about this bounding box. The dangers of "upload" button beating out my attempts to do "upload selection for each one of these. I'll dix up the waterway tags on water=pond areas in just a minute.

Any idea about the nodes here that are waterway=yes? Definitely left me scratching my head. ha.

No problem at all. Super easy mistake to make. It's interesting to look through taginfo occasionally and see what issues like this sneak in. Typos like waterway=strem aren't too uncommon either!

Happy mapping!

Love to dig up an old changeset. I think I've solved the "these should be on the map but looping waterways are an issue" problem. I have converted the ponds to natural=water and then run the stream segments through them in a sensible way. Definitely let me know if you think I've gone astray somehow!

Happy mapping.

I posted a few more thoughts over on the community forum. I hope we can reach a consensus one way or another.

Hello! The specific way in question should have had the tags left on it and was erroneously cleaned up by me. My apologies.

However, to my understanding, the vast majority of my address tag removals are in line with common practice throughout the United States. The addr:country tag is completely unnecessary and should not be added. Another oddity I often correct is, buildings in a city that are not addressable and yet have address tagging. This one is a great example (way/847835130/history#map=19/33.61513/-112.08768). It appears to be a minor out building or shelter of some kind. Can you help me understand why these two practices are necessary in these cases?

Gotcha. I always like to ask in case there's some oddness to be learned! Thanks for the response.

Hello! This node (node/1738808391/history) being marked as place=locality seems a bit odd. Is that common for monuments? Is this on unusual somehow? Would love to know more about it.

Hello! I presume you're interested in this node (node/153943762/history). If that's not the case let me know.

The data error you mention predates my cleanup work but definitely points to something being wrong. My best guess is the error was introduced in this changeset (changeset/34636544) by merging perviously overlapping bank and place nodes. The bank information and place information appear to have been re-added independently leaving this as an extra (and erroneous?) node.

I have move the extra bank tags to the bank and adjusted the county relation to use the other place node as the "admin_centre". Does that seem right to you? changeset/145050802

Saw the hydrants and crosswalks being marked and wanted to say: nice work!
