Hello!
Thanks for adding this lot. Can you check the capacity numbers? It's currently tagged as all spots being handicapped spots which is usually not the case. The wiki has more information about the tagging: amenity=parking

Definitely let me know if you have any questions!

I should also say that it's possible this imagery is very old and the roads are actually in place!

131578766 over 2 years ago

It looks like many of these roads would be better tagged as highway=construction or highway=proposed to help keep app from routing folks through here.

I am also curious about the mentioned "geojson data file" presumably this is from the local GIS department or was it something your gathered yourself.

Hello! Thanks for the contribution. You can get this one looking a bit crisper by having the editor "square the corners". Select the building outline and hit the 'q' button. Makes things look really sharp.

If you have other questions feel free to ask.

Happy mapping!

I have reverted the changset as it does not appear that there is a castle here. Please only add things that are actually verifiable.

If you have other questions please feel free to ask. Happy to help.

Thanks!

These look wonderful!

The common way to resolve this is to make a landuse=residential area for each named set of units.

It's also considered "good practice" to not share nodes between the roadways and landuse. Generally the roadway doesn't actually define the boundary in a meaningful way so you're free to put the landuse slightly to the side. The online editor can make that somewhat difficult so it's totally understandable. I've adjusted the Kirkland Place Condominiums landuse, let me know what you think.

Thanks for your contribution. Happy mapping!

Hello! I suspect the loop on the right is better tagged as service=parking_aisle. Does that seem right?

135080834 over 2 years ago

Ha. Is that the name students gave it?

Hello! Thanks for the addition. I looks great to me. Whenever I'm curious about tag usage I use the tagInfo site to see what other folks are using. Here's the tag values for "leisure" https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/leisure#values. If you search for hackerspace you'll see ~1400 uses which seems great.

I also find this site helpful (https://projets.pavie.info/yohours) as opening_hours can be a headache to get right. The ones you have look great.

Happy mapping and welcome!

Hello!

Thanks for contributing. From the Bing StreetSide, you're totally right that the shared driveway here erroneously has a name tag on it. I've updated it to be a marked as a shared driveway.

As for access, "private" in this context means that it is posted that no one can use it. The more common tag for access on driveways is "destination" or "permissive". You can read about the distinctions here. access=*. In general, software treats driveways with lower priority so almost all the driveways have no access tag.

Happy mapping!

Hello!

I run the SmallTownUSA bot and was jazzed to find someone mapping away at things it's posting.

I've been meaning to get around to having the bot do follow-up scans and posts of places folks have help put on the map so... look forward to that!

Hello!

The additions look really good. Thanks for adding them. One oddity about OpenStreetMap is that we try pretty hard to not have abbreviations in the various data fields. It's not always obvious what the abbreviations actually means so we try to keep things a bit easier.

For this changeset I've updated the street names on the addresses to the expanded street name. Just something to look out for.

There's also 2 houses with housenumber 101. That usually means there's an error but not always, can you take a look at it?

Anyhoo. Happy mapping!

Hello! Welcome to OpenStreetMap. This change looks good. If you'd like to improve it even more this section of roadway seems to have been missed for speed limits and lanes (way/6352692/history#map=19/47.76216/-122.30766).

For houses I like to draw the roofline as accurately as possible and make sure to remember you can square the corners with by selecting the outline and hitting 'q'. Tree cover around here can make aerial imagery hard to map from so you're free to use your own knowledge of local buildings to make sure they look nice a crisp.

I've drawn a few more around this one so it isn't all alone ha.

I have added address information for this area and corrected the abbreviated street names as part of this project: https://tasks.openstreetmap.us/projects/377

Happy mapping.

Hello! Should the set of builings here be tagged as building=terrace? The bing streetside view doesn't make it seem like apartments but maybe I've misinterpreted things.

Amazing. When it's so good you get asked if a machine did it. Ha.

Hello! Thanks for contributing. Looks good overall. Just wanted to point out one oddity which is that street names in OSM should be expanded from their abbreviations. It helps reduce confusion overall even if it seems a bit odd. In this case I've updated "W Wood Dr" to be "West Wood Drive".

If you have other questions or want to hang out with other mappers there's an OpenStreetMap US Slack (https://slack.openstreetmap.us/) and a global OSM discord (https://discord.gg/openstreetmap) that are both great resources.

The geometry on the ponds on the east side of town look so crisp! presumably there's some JOSM geometry tool that helps make things look great?

Was doing some address addition in the area and wanted to say the buildings are great. Good work!
