Hello, those sidewalks are drawn in as separate lines, so the sidewalk=both tag is redundant. You could put sidewalk:both=separate instead!

Thanks for this update! I was surprised that it was already done when I went to do the changes. :)

If a renderer cannot route the last few meters from the street to the park, an issue ticket should be opened on its Github. This seems like a clear case of "tagging for the router". (osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_router) The path does not exist in physical reality, and indeed such connections in some cases mislead routers into using paths in parks for shortcuts when there is a high curb in the way, and often street furniture as well.

I am not interested in participating in OSM community spaces at this time.

Amazing!! Thanks so much for doing this. I know it can be a lot of work.

When you add sidewalks, please make sure to connect them to streets with crossings! Otherwise, they can't be used by routers. Please look in the Rosemont area to see how sidewalks should be done in the Montréal area.

But it represents the physical reality of where curbs are, and how long crossings are. People can always choose to make slight detours when they walk in order to optimise their route, but that isn't what we represent on a map.

I can point you to some resources about sidewalk mapping if you'd like to learn more. Otherwise, please leave the work of other mappers intact. :)

Please do not delete the short ways that connect sidewalks to curbs. They help with wheelchair routing! :)

Hi there, what is your reasoning for moving the curb nodes on this crossing? Generally, we position them so they are on the spot where the sidewalk meets the road, not part-way up.

please leave the address in the future :)

Au futur, svp laisser l’adresse :)

Reverted because you dragged nodes all over the place.

Expect 360° images on Mapillary by Sunday!

I'll be surveying this lane on the weekend and adding the separation details. Thanks for putting the lane in. :)

Could you please link to this discussion? It is not documented anywhere.

Significant stretches of this REM have no curbs, and it does not make sense to make them as a separate way. I am following the standard on the wiki:

> Cycling infrastructure that is an inherent part of a road – particularly "cycle lanes" which are a part of the road – should usually not be tagged as a separate cycleway, but by adding the cycleway=* tag to an existing highway=* instead.

Hello, and thank you for adding in sidewalks! If you continue, could you please read my guide as to how others in the area are drawing them? It would be nice if we could keep it consistent, and also provide the right amount of detail to help mobility-impaired users. :)

If you'd like to look at how they've been done elsewhere, I've finished pretty much all of LaSalle just on the other side of the canal.

> car il n'y a pas encore de tag pour des "connectors" entre les rues et les entrées de parc par exemple.

Il y a `cycleway=link`

Hi, and thanks for drawing in missing buildings. Could you please make sure to use the correct offset (0.6,-1.54) for Bing imagery so that your work aligns with that of other mappers? Thanks!
