I did ask the question of a more knowledgeable railway mapper than me and he did say that there is really no main/branch concept in the UK.

Based on the other lines I would tend to go with main if only so it doesn't look less important than the cambrian or the shrewsbury to crewe line. But that is getting into tagging for the renderer which is discouraged in OSM.

Hi Peter
Thank you for your reply, its an odd one but do bear in mind that the wiki can usually be taken with a large pinch of NaCl. The wiki also mentions electrification which from a UK perspective is incorrect. It reminds me of a state of the map talk where a German mapper stated that diesel trains only travel at something like 100km per hour. He was totally unaware that Voyagers travel along the West Coast line at 200kph.

I was basing usage on the usage of the other lines in the area. For example the Cambrian and the Marches lines are classified as main.

Hi, welcome to OSM. Thank you for your edits however as a local I do not see this as a branch line.

I can see that usage was missing, I am not a railway expert but Is there any evidence you have used to come to this reasoning?

Hi, welcome to OSM. Thank you for your edits however the names of the roads you have changed were correct. There is no space before way in either of them. In fact The Burway already has a not:name=Bur Way tag.
Also oneway=no should only be used where oneway is common, such as the odd two way road in a city centre. Rural unclassified roads are expected to be two way.

Hi Rob, thank you for your edit. The names are a very useful addition to OSM.

Just one thing, a fence blocking access between Curlew Meadows and The Wheatlands is a bit unlikely. Whilst I would expect motor vehicles to be blocked, blocking pedestrian access between the two is a little unlikely. Can you describe the feature, a fence with a gap perhaps?

Also is the former field now a recreation ground?

Thanks Phil

Hi, welcome to OSM.

Are you sure that this a bridleway? It has previously been mapped with designation=public_footpath and the council rights of way data confirms this.
Just wondering why you changed it?

No response, an unlikely location and maps,me so reverted.

Hi, welcome to OSM. This edit has gone a little bit wrong. You have changed a building into landuse when I assume you were trying to change the building type.
I have fixed the tagging.

Hi, welcome to OSM and thank you for your edits.
In OSM a placename of a village belongs on the boundary relation and place node. In the case of New Inn it is relation/11017133
Adding the name to the residentail area is simply a duplication and in this case the residential area simply has no name.
Obviously residential areas within a place may sometimes have a name.

Hi, this change is a little misleading to map users. They are unlikely to look at a covid19 opening hours tag.
Aldi is not opening 'until further notice' hence it should not be tagged as shop=supermarket until that actually happens. I had been deliberately leaving off any more that construction until that happens which is unlikely in the near future.

Hi, welcome to OSM.

Do you have a bit more detail for this hotel? The middle of the road is a bit of an odd place and from my memory this is a residential area and an unlikely place to find a hotel.

I have reverted this.

I had deleted it at the request of the householder in note/2181936

I originally closed the note but received a pm stating it was their driveway.

Hi, thank you for your edit however please slow down and take care with existing features when mapping.

In this edit you have crossed a stream without creating a bridge. This should have been a warning in iD which you should have fixed before continuing.

Also why have you changed Ffordd y Dywysoges Margared to secondary, an isolated section of B road is a bit unlikely.

Removing correct and valid data from OSM is not ok. Add name:cy, where it is valid is fine but in general the primary language in Glamorgan is English.

84442314 over 5 years ago

Other than a literal translation, what is the source of this name:cy?

84285813 over 5 years ago

What is the source of this name, beyond a literal translation?
The wikipedia page you have added does not exist.

What is the source of these name beyond a translation?

It is kind of unlikely that there is a Russian name for a small town.
