I have recently learned that individual houses can more accurately be tagged as building=detached. I have a very large number to go back and change. =)

Just so you know, in the Lansing area, I have found the recent Mapbox imagery to be the most recent and best aligned (offset) with the map. Though, it was taken during last year's flooding, so some of the areas along the rivers are literally “washed out”.

I believe those once active in East Lansing have moved and most everyone else in the area is pretty new. So, you will likely not get much push back.

There are two competing/complementing methods for tagging sidewalks in OSM. The one you chose, adding the sidewalk to the roadway, is the quickest way to add pedestrian routing. Some areas, like Portland prefer it, as it is also simpler for their routing software. The other method is to map each individual sidewalk, as has been done throughout campus.

Having spent some time in Boston, where they started by adding the sidewalk tag to their streets (highway), then later adding individual sidewalks, where ever they deviated from the roadways. I found this blended method worked well enough to confidently lead a dozen people around that hectic city.

Looks good. I should warn you, that often the imagery will have an offset that needs to be lined up to GPS traces. We have found that recent MapBox imagery has been spot on, but that is unusual. Here is more information. osm.wiki/Using_Imagery

I would leave the miles of sidewalk you have already laid down, however, Lansing allows bicycles on sidewalks. So for proper routing, we should tag them accordingly. The Lansing Wiki page mentions this...

The Lansing Wiki page lists best practices for sidewalks and paths, borrowed from the Bike-Ottawa project and related wiki pages. For this, the following tags might be more appropriate:

highway=footway + footway=sidewalk + foot=designated + bicycle=yes + segregated=no + surface=concrete/asphalt/paved

Points on OpenStreetMap should have a tag (or tags) designating the type of point it is (beyond a name and contact information). However, I do not know what that would be in the case of a towing company. It seems others have asked and the best option presented was shop=car_repair ( https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/47158/cartruck-towing-business ). As that did not seem to be to be the best option, I have the question on the Wiki ( osm.wiki/Talk:Tag:shop%3Dcar_repair#Should_a_Towing_company_be_tagged_as_a_car_repair_shop.3F ). In the meantime, you may want to tag this as shop=car_repair.
