Changeset When Comment

Hi, thanks for the reply. I doubt that means that all paths are footpaths unless otherwise signed. I am sure the Birdsland paths are not footpaths. I presume that many of the retaggings are from aerial images alone, they span a distance greater than the 5km allowed under Covid. Please give information in changeset comments. It is difficult for us to assess the logic of your changes, the original mapper of a feature presumably physically observed the feature and decided the tags, if you want to change them, possibly solely on the evidence of a aerial image, you need to give information that supports your case. If you took a Mapillary photo you could refer to it in the changeset comments. Its best not to make wholesale changes to how stuff is being mapped without discussing with the community.

For the moment, if changing tagging re cycleway footpath path bike yes no designated can you please give a changeset comment for each way that explains what your evidence and logic is.
Thanks Tony

Hi. Why have you changed many paths to bicycle=no? for example way/304507133 I rode that path today and didn't see any no bicycle signs. Perhaps you could also give more detailed comments to help others understand why you have made changes

Hi Parks Victoria Lysterfield, yes that's the way to do it
access=no
highway=path
Another point, its good to give a unique changeset comment which describes your intent with the edit eg "removed description from name, the track has no name"

osm.org/edit?way=371564143 may be misplaced 20m west or maybe there's a lot of offset in the satellite image

I note node/907225121 is also listed as a place of worship of unspecified religion

Hi, I have only the information that was on the sign. That included a url sos.org which may give further clues . It may be that it is a place of meditation and not worship. I note a proposal for a tag meditation centre which has not been adopted.

Thanks Warin. Autosquare crossed the polygon, probably explains why it was not displaying

I looked at Ridge Tk and the intersection with Way: 39245854. Couldn't find it so deleting it.

Hi Paul
I looked for Way: 568831737, all I could find was bits of old animal tracks. I am surprised it has disappeared in a year. How would you feel about me deleting it?

Hi. An apartment: "A holiday or vacation apartment is a furnished apartment or flat with cooking and bathroom facilities that can be rented for holiday vacations, either from a private owner or an agency.", is this an apartment or private dwelling?

Hi. Thanks for your map edits, unfortunately I think MAPS.ME software has let you down. There are now mapped 2 ATMs, both operated by Toyworld, a bank named Toyworld and a shop named Toyworld. What is there and do you need help?

Hi
Thanks for your map edits. The playground you have created is only 20m from an existing playground: Way: 676716663 Is it a duplicate?

Hi. Thanks for your map contribution. I deleted the name and name:fr tags. See osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only for an explanation

Thanks. Then I presume name:bug is the closely related Buginese language. Is the Makassarese language widely enough used to justify using a bilingual "name=" instead of the official name, are the street signs bilingual for example? Most of the precedents for bilingual "name=" in OSM are when there are two official languages in the region. I presume the official name is in the language bahasa Indonesia. I note that there doesn't seem to be a consistent way to enter bilingual names in OSM, spaced hyphen, slash and a space are used.
