Also I don't see the point of changing highway=path to cycleway on combined bicycle-pedestrian paths. This road is both for pedestrians and cyclists. Most data consumers will treat them the same, but cyclosm will draw them differently. iD editor does prefer highway=cycleway, but it doesn't make it the only correct way.

I don't care much which tagging scheme is used, but I think it's better to keep changes to a minimum.

Hi, I see you've added many bicycle=yes tags. Please use bicycle=designated if it's a bicycle or a combined bicycle/pedestrian path. Keep in mind that cycling on sidewalks and footways is against the law in Estonia and bicycle=yes should not be added to them.

Hi, you've made quite a lot of max speed edits. Do you live in Estonia? Speed limit is seasonal, are you sure all these roads will still have it in winter? There is already conditional speed limit marked for them.

highway=path is the one which doesn't give preference to either pedestrians or cyclists, IMO. It's also the one given as example here bicycle=designated

Hi, this update doesn't really do anything useful. These paths are not cycleways and not footways. They are combined pedestrian-bicycle paths and all of these 3 tagging schemes are equivalent:

highway=footway
bicycle=designated

highway=cycleway
bicycle=designated
foot=designated

highway=path
bicycle=designated
foot=designated
(I'd also add surface=asphalt in this case)

You can read more on this topic here
osm.wiki/Path_controversy

iD editor (the one you use in the browser) does prefer highway=cycleway, but iD editor's opinions do not define a standard in OSM.

Please refrain of changes like this in the future.

Hi, all name tag values should be in a local language. You can add a name:de= tag for German. But still, you should avoid translating names, like "Kassioru => Katzental", unless they are actually known by that translation.
(so even a name:de=Katzental should be avoided)

Hi, be careful, you've accidentally moved a node which broke a lot more important roads than you've added.

https://osmhv.openstreetmap.de/changeset.jsp?id=120431609

Such mistakes happen and I've fixed it, but please don't blindly accept all iD editor's fix suggestions. The roads affected were connected to the new road, which shows that you've clicked 'apply suggestion' without actually checking it out.

Hi,
1) You've added a "Tühi plats". You shouldn't put description into the name tag. Also, does this area ACTUALLY has an industrial landuse, or as you've named it, it's just... empty? It's strange how the new parking overlaps it, but only partially.

2) You've changed some service roads to residential and named them Jõe. Maa-amet and tee register don't know anything about it. You shouldn't name roads adjacent to a street the same as the street. It's ok that they don't have a name. I hope you didn't copy this from google, as google's license doesn't allow that and they are a bad source of data. The same goes for Aiandi street.

Hi, good job, but there are two things I've noticed about your edit
1)
There are rarely "pure" cycleways in Estonia, most likely this is a combined pedestrian path. If so, then access tags like
foot=designated
bicycle=designated
should be added. Then routing software will work both for pedestrians and bicycles. By default pedestrians are forbidden on cycleways both in OSM tag interpretation and Estonian law.

2) Cycleway or any other road should be connected to the roads it connects to in reality. Otherwise routing software won't be able to take it into account.

Please be more accurate with your edits, the road goes through bollards on the map.

I'd recommend to use Maa-amet's cadastre aerial imagery. You can choose it from the right-hand menu. Bing is the default, but it's very inaccurate, outdated and blurry.

I wouldn't name that whole area a park. The area near Linnamäe tee 38b isn't being taken care of.

121367816 over 3 years ago

There are different types of bicycles and riders with different skill level.
bicycle=no would imply that it's ILLEGAL to cycle here, which, I assume, is not the case.

access=*

I wouldn't add a bicycle tag here.

See
osm.wiki/Mountain_biking
if you want to tag difficulty.

"Ebaküpressid on igihaljad okaspuud."

Please, make sure your changes are correct before making them.

Hi again,
please see this article natural=tree

The name tag is not about species, but about names given to some special trees. Just in case: if you name a tree in your yard, it doesn't count, it must be something known to general public.

There are following tags to specify biological names
genus=*
species=*
taxon=*

But I should mention that they are rarely used.

Are bar names really translatable? Like if someone has an app with Russian locale, will he even understand that this is the same bar? BTW, the website http://so-va.online says it's Северная Сова.

I've rollbacked the changeset changeset/121328107

121323680 over 3 years ago

Hello, what you've done here is vandalism. You've changed a house into a cliff, changed another house outline and added some incorrectly tagged garage, sandbox and "a home".

If these actions are not an intentional vandalism, please consult the wiki osm.wiki/Main_Page to learn what is OpenStreetMap and how to properly tag and also be more careful.

Hi, "living streets" aren't usually named streets, I'm not sure why you named it Järveotsa.

Пожалуйста, по возможности пишите комментарий к правке. Например, "добавил типы зданий" или "добавил количество этажей".

Hello. Satellite and aerial imagery is not accurate by default. It often has an offset from reality. Bing photos are especially inaccurate. In Estonia it's better to use Maa-amet's imagery. You can choose it from the right-hand menu (cadastre has higher resolution than orthophoto).

You will notice that all of the buildings you moved actually had been correctly placed.

You can move them back manually or I could rollback your changeset, but this will remove all of the changes you've done.
