| Bike to capture 360 photos for Mapillary | edit :

| Bike to capture 360 photos for Mapillary | The VIRB XE has three advantages compared to the Heros = - people recognise it less as an action camera - the battery is easier to exchange - because it has no back screen, it is possible to press it against a tube. |
|
| Bike to capture 360 photos for Mapillary | Normally, I would say = “Return that Garmin VIRB XE to the shop if still possible”. But on the other hand, I could not find pictures of you that are as bad as mine. The VIRB XE is known to adapt very badly to changing light and to show little or no contrast in the shadow. One good VIRB XE has not emerged yet. But in your country there is always sun and the streets are wide. But I think a Gopro would give a better result in following pictures : https://www.mapillary.com/app/user/angoca?lat=5.039461534444456&lng=-74.45303779083332&z=17&panos=true&username%5B%5D=angoca&pKey=B68Ivn_hsr6TRZiyUfQuvg&focus=photo&x=0.523882952691836&y=0.5977210999244726&zoom=0 https://www.mapillary.com/app/user/angoca?lat=5.296701472222253&lng=-75.56221277444445&z=17&panos=true&username%5B%5D=angoca&pKey=FRvotJwrAJqyYKXBqgfYtQ&focus=photo&x=0.47896931287976596&y=0.44646581761053816&zoom=0 There is also a better Gopro tube mount that allows panning. I don’t think your brake cables would be in sight. A 2 meter USB cable, that must give a lot of loss. |

| Bichelangelo and GPS Traces as Pictures | That has been along since GPX tracks exist. Especially the dirty pictures. Nothing has changed since the Romans :). The people of Gent even build their roads to represent dirty pictures :) = osm.org/#map=10/51.1102/3.7973 |

| Mapping infrastructure worldwide with OpenStreetMap | In my pictures, I pay special attention to infrastructure. https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=50.940206329999995&lng=4.626378631111111&z=17&pKey=ec3sU_DEvhKH2tq25JW5RA&focus=photo&x=0.5140524685261572&y=0.5454068064809345&zoom=0 |

| Gear for MTB mapping | My country is so ugly that there is always a pub at walking distance. And I ride an electric bike. I use tyres that cannot be punctured. I have some spare duct tape around a bicycle duct. I carry a Leatherman. I use Osmand with the current track and the Mapillary sequences shown. I take 2 pictures a second with my actioncam, attached with RAM mounts. |

| Dual freq GPS and map alignment | OK, they are not normal people, but the blind might be interested. Google Developer Documentation thinks that great things are going to happen the next years. Also by using the raw GNSS data and the new WIFI. We should not miss the boat. So all my drinking water fountains will have to be revisited. The discussion will be what to map. The faucet or the button ? The UNO will have to intervene. I am practicing on geodetic points. Does anyone know how to enter the Belgian Lambert Coordinates in JOSM ? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stgrdev.gpssatellitesviewer does not have the Lambert 2008 CRS. |

| The state of drinking fountains in Vancouver, BC | I don’t see a reason. An amenity is a “nutsvoorziening” in dutch. I have ten man_made=water_tap in my house. “man_made” is always a bad tag key in my view as it is that or “natural”. For the few wells that are not covered by “amenity”, you could specify that their water is drinkable. Well, even a the one well in my region becomes an amenity as the quality of water is controlled. But all we are interested is is in free drinking water. |
|
| The state of drinking fountains in Vancouver, BC | The only solution is to use the Mapillary tag, as I did in Brussels and even in the whole of Flanders. |
|
| a | Good luck with it. |

| `new-note` mode in iD | But why do you think that the city recently removed those buildings ? |
|
| Cycling And Tracking in Warm Weather | It is amazing how neglected drinking water fountains are by mappers. |
|
| `new-note` mode in iD | We all know whose and what notes suck. The best filter is a permanent exclusive one. |
