Hello. I'm an active local mapper in Lynchburg and noticed you deleted a bunch of low-level administrative boundaries in the city. Could you explain why you did this? They were imported from the city's open data portal.

Thanks for taking a look! The area:highway=primary is showing up in OsmAnd now. Weirdly, area:highway=yes doesn't.

Need to talk to public works to see if they can unf*** this crossing situation.

I think I'm mostly with you here, but the new crossing line should not connect to the little nub on the south, as that curb ramp dumps you in the road. It should connect maybe 5 feet up the driveway from there, and be marked as having a raised curb.

To be honest, the expectation is that you drive a car everywhere. The sidewalk network in this area is thrown together haphazardly and has very poor connectivity. As a resident and regular user of the sidewalks in this area, I believe it would be unwise to map this crossing.

Here's a bit from the crossing=unmarked page in the wiki:
"Some states have laws that establish an implied crossing on every side of every intersection by default[1] or wherever one is implied by a sidewalk flanking the intersection,[2] unless otherwise prohibited by a regulatory sign. This can technically result in very unsafe crossings that most people would not recognize as crossings, such as across a busy four-lane road without any pedestrian infrastructure. It would be reasonable to omit such crossings in favor of safer ones. "

I'll take a video of the "crossing" later and link you if you like.

I will be deleting this because if you use it during school hours you will die. Also, the southern curb ramp doesn't even face north toward the other side of this supposed unmarked crossing. It rolls wheelchairs directly into the Memorial Avenue slaughtering zone.

I agree. Definitely a case of me mapping for the routing engine. I'll change in a moment.
