First Trace Recorded

Posted by ott on 23 August 2008 in English.

Because of the bad weather I took along my GPS logger on a little trip from Jevenstedt to Rendsburg by car. I uploaded the trace, but it doesn't seem to be very usable.

Hi,
if the quality is quite or very bad, just delete the track again so others do not get confused (maybe ;-). In general you probably need an external antenna when using your logger in a car.

I wasn't concerned about the quality, because most of the data matched with the already existing roads. I just drove on mainly traced roads with a long logging interval (5 seconds) and didn't take any kind of notes, this is why I thought it was a bit useless. Anyhow I think I could complete some roads, even if it maybe needs later refinement.

Just try an interval of 1 or 2 seconds. For walking I use 4 seconds at the moment, but 3 would be better... And keep in mind that taking notes while driving around by car could be dangerous! ;-)
So, happy logging!

Meant notes in a broader sense (audio recordings, pictures, etc) ;)
