Queensbury/Glens Falls, NY US

Posted by nydalek85 on 6 April 2010 in English.

Hello all! I have only been signed up for this for a day, and I've been coming across a lot of stuff I've needed to fix for the Captial Region of NY. Most of what I had been doing were fixing the entries for county roads. I came across gross errors while fixing county route alignments in the Town of Queensbury. I do not know how many other areas have very erroneous locations for road data. I have started fixing many of the streets in the West Glens Falls area, if anyone would like to help out, that would be great!

I wouldn't like to see someone use this service get bad directions because the roads were misaligned. Thanks!

You may have noticed the tiger tags, the majority of US data was imported from census data, however it's not terribly accurate and it's been an ongoing process for people in the US to correct it.

TIGER 2009 data is better than the old TIGER data which is currently in OSM. See: .

Thank you. I can see how census data is inaccurate (ahem). I have found other slight issues in other areas as well. The Queensbury area is difficult because the sun was in the wrong spot in those sat images. I like this service already, and now I have found something else to occupy my time :)
