Anyone has faced this issue?

Posted by mzenbarakji on 30 July 2010 in English.

I have a Garmin nuvi 1300 and downloaded a map from OSM. The map I downloaded from OSM shows fine on my GPS but the problem is that when I want to navigate from point A to B, it uses the base map's routes that came with my GPS instead of using the routes of the map that I downloaded from OSM.
Any thoughts?!

Thanks

Where did you download the map from? What website?
Some OSM based Garmin maps don't support auto-routing, so the Garmin will just use the basemap instead.

I got my maps from different websites and one of them was openstreetmap.org itself.

If it happens to know of any website that offers OSM auto-routing maps, please let me know.

Thanks much

I don't think the Cloudmade Garmin maps are routable, are they?

I recommend this website, the maps are routable, and you can pick the area you want: http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php

Or other options to download from this page, it lists which are routable: osm.wiki/OSM_Map_On_Garmin/Download
