Changeset When Comment

Just letting you know that I've revised some of these camping areas at changeset/79973060 from a recent camping trip (prior to the bushfires). I've noticed that the Forestry Corporation web site has confusing information. For example, Dobbie Rim is listed on the web site https://www.forestrycorporation.com.au/visit/forests/chichester as a picnic area, but on the PDF map linked from this page, it's listed as a camping area. (The signs there have camping.)

Just letting you know that I'm changing the spelling back to 'Oaky'. The road sign is spelt this way, and LPI Base Map also has this spelling. There is no Garvey's Lane signposted here.

Haven't had a reply yet, so I'm going to assume it's an error, so I've deleted your change.

The cliff line at Masada isn't currently rendering - I've submitted a report at https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?pid=766723 and https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/3944

Just wondering why you've created an ATM and an unspecified attraction in the middle of an orchard?

71775588 about 6 years ago

Do you have any details of what this attraction is? I don't recall anything specific in this location when I visited here.

Does this post office need to be in a different place? (it's been added to a gate.)

That would be Tourist Drive 1. (Network=T). Network=T / ref=1 also appears on the accompanying relation relation/399902 .
The OSM base map doesn't show the different shields, but other applications (e.g. OSMAnd) show this with the correct tourist shield.

Just letting you know I've reverted the highway tag back to highway=residential. It was originally added with a GPS survey.

I have no idea. When I added this road 9 years ago, it was only a stub (containing only 2 nodes, ending at a fixme at node/605302349 ) - since then, the road has been extended by others, then split (the nodes I added are now part of way/642675703 ) - the current way/47576012 I have never been on.

I've just spent the last several days looking at all the nodes imported here and deleted many of them - see comments at changeset/63695825

I've just spent the last several days looking at all the nodes imported at changeset/108027 (and yes, it was tedious!) - this import about 10 years ago had inaccurate locations for the nodes. Many of these nodes have since had their locations corrected, so I have left those alone. All the deleted nodes were checked against imagery to double-check they were in the wrong location. Many of these had nearby duplicate nodes (from other surveys or imports).

OK, thanks. I'll make the changes to ways 561914879 and 561914878. For now, I'll leave way/30042221 alone. I missed the Ophir Road sign at Riverside Retreat (it was 6:15 AM! on my way to Dubbo last weekend).

I've been having a look at the street names for the former Ophir Road in Bathurst, and wanted to run these by you before I make any changes. From West to East:

way/70512262 - Ophir Road remains correct (for now - this will probably change once the housing estate extends further west). There is a signpost marking the junction with this road with the western end of Howarth Close:

way/30042221 Howarth Close - the western end where it joins O'Reilly Place has no other signposts. The Bathurst Regional Council Development Control Plan indicates that in the future, Howarth Close will be closed where the park/gully are. The house numbers on the LPI Basemap are consistent with this section being Howarth Close.

East of here is where it becomes tricky. The section from O'Reilly Place to Farmgate/Joubert way/561914878 have no street signs. The house numbers on the southern side match up with the numbers for the rest of O'Reilly place, and the LPI Basemap marks this section as part of O'Reilly Place - but the house numbers on the northern side are large (227-233), so it could be considered part of Ophir Road. I've looked at https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/ which confirms this. I propose to use name=O'Reilly Place, alt_name=Ophir Road

The final section from Farmgate/Joubert to Westbourne way/561914879 is clearly Ophir Road. There is a road sign at Westbourne Drive stating this, also the house numbers are large (213-223 and 212-218). Once the Westbourne end is closed off (as per the Development Control Plan), this is likely to be renamed.

Stop signs are still present at the junction with Westbourne Drive - I had added these before, so I'm planning to put them back in again.

Hopefully this all makes sense - please reply if you have any comments/queries.

Ewen, just checking to see if you saw my previous question.

waterway=dam is used for the wall of a dam, not for the water behind it. I suggest natural=water instead, with optional water=reservoir.

I wasn't aware alphanumeric routes had been signed in the NT (that particular relation and others were created based on the tags from the existing ways) - if these routes have now been signed as alphanumeric, then feel free to add the A (or B/C) (and remove the network=S tag).

Looking at them now, I'm not sure myself! Ways are now deleted. changeset/59078897

Partial reversion of changeset/56506395
This way had been deleted:
way/385943805
It's a new road (not present on LPI imagery, but present on Bing and Esri imagery)
When this road was built, there was also a realignment of the junction of Huntley Road and Forest Road, and the eastern end of Sharp Road was closed.
