Stolen GPS.

Posted by mrmooge88 on 2 November 2009 in English.

My GPS was stolen out of my car recently. I don't think they were really doing it for the money. Just for the thrill. Took the charger and tossed it a few meters away from my car. I put a lock on it so they can not sell or use it. Basically I've got to find a new GPS.

I might go with a Tomtom again. I don't know. It has to have map functionality for when I am driving and be able to use software for OpenStreetMap documentation.

any ideas?

Probably crack-heads and I'd imagine they dropped the charger by accident. Sorry to hear about that, anyway :( No suggestions on what to buy I'm afraid, though.

I am myself looking for a new GPS, but for other reasons. Basically I need one that can be permanently installed in my car with map functionality and an easy way to update maps and extract tracks. My Garmin eTrex yellow is handy, but falls short on many points, such as battery life, track resolution, no maps, etc.
