| 125257010 | over 3 years ago | Hi, you requested a review of your mappings. Welcome to HOT, great to have you here. I looked at a few of your mappings, they look good. You correctly trace the outline of buildings. A few points however to improve your mapping. First, square your buildings after tagging them by pressing ‘q’ on your keyboard. And second, please upload your work after mapping appr. 5 - 10 buildings. Now you upload every building apart. That makes reviewing harder for validators, and it takes you more time to map. Thanks for mapping, and please keep on going. Regards, Martien, Global HOT Validator

| 125199234 | over 3 years ago | Hi, you mapped a building here that is in fact just a patch of sand. I have noticed the same elsewhere, this is not an incident. Please, zoom in and out in order to clearly see if an object is a building or not. Look for a color difference between the roof and ground, shadows and regular geometric shapes (e.g. rectangles or circles). You can also use different imagery to compare for clarity. Thanks and regards, Martien, Global HOT Validator

| 125154163 | over 3 years ago | Mapper requested to revert this changeset because of the deleted buildings. But there are only 4 of them, and more buildings that are mapped/fixed correctly. So imo no need to revert.

| 124690071 | over 3 years ago | Hi, i am a HOT validator. I noticed you created some odd mappings here: dragging a node(s) from an already mapped good building so that the result is an oddly shaped, non square building. I also noticed that this is not an incident. Almost all the mappings you created are done in this way. Please stop doing this, you are damaging the map. And possibly harming people on the ground who are dependent on this map. Thanks for your cooperation.

| 124734422 | over 3 years ago | I randomly check mappings and saw these. Well done, buildings look good: properly squared and traced. One thing though: you deleted mappings from other mappers that you found probably incorrect. In general, within OSM, that is only allowed if a feature is non-existant (anymore). If that is not the case it will be seen as "inappropriate". In such situation it is better to fix and/or move the feature. Thanks and regards, Martien, global validator.

| 124053655 | over 3 years ago | I reverted changeset/123387364, but only the part with duplicate buildings. |
| 123388597 | over 3 years ago | Welcome to HOT, thanks for contributing. Unfortunately there is an issue here. You mapped buildings on top of already mapped ones. This could be due to the fact that the editor hides buildings when zoomed out. You can see this in the blue box in the right bottom corner of the editor, saying "x hidden features". So always zoom in sufficiently to make every existing mapping visible. Thanks and regards, Martien, global HOT validator.

Thanks again and please keep mapping. Regards, Martien, global validator.

| 122768968 | over 3 years ago | Hi Jacob, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings. The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon. Also, you can improve by avoiding mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately. Zoom in as close as possible to see the outline of the buildings, hit each corner of the building carefully. Look for shadows, open ground, changes in roof color and vegetation to differentiate buildings. Please watch these 2 short video for more info:
Thanks so much for your contribution, Martien, HOT validator.

| 122690973 | over 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings. Thanks for mapping. Next time, you can improve by avoiding mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately. Zoom in as close as possible to see the outline of the buildings, hit each corner of the building carefully. Look for shadows, open ground, changes in roof color and vegetation to differentiate buildings. And please square your buildings after tagging them by pressing ‘q’ on your keyboard. Keep up the mapping - many thanks! Kind regards, Martien, HOT validator.

| 122387403 | over 3 years ago | Hi, you requested a review of your mappings here. Thanks, they are of good quality. One remark, and that is specific for tall buildings. They are often photographed at an angle, showing also the side. You mapped a few of these tall buildings including the visible side. But you should only map the footprint. One way to achieve that is outlining the roofprint and then moving that to the footprint. Again, thanks for mapping. Kind regards, Martien, validator.

| 120610514 | over 3 years ago | Hi John, welcome to HOTOSM. You requested a review of your mappings. Well mapped, but as to the square buildings please square them after tagging them by pressing ‘q’ on your keyboard. Also take care not to let them having shared nodes with other buildings. So keep up the mapping - many thanks! Kind regards, Martien, global validator.

| 121057674 | over 3 years ago | Hi, you requested a review of your mappings. Some of them are well mapped, as to the squareness of the corners and the tracing of the outline. Unfortunately there are some where you traced the outline of the surrounding area (garden, fence, barrier). You can recognize a building on the clear straight shadow it throws and the color difference of the roof with the surrounding area. Please take note on that in your future mappings. Thanks and kind regards, Martien, global validator.

| 121047425 | over 3 years ago | Hi, you requested a review of your mappings. You deleted and changed a whole bunch of good mappings here. Also, they were in an already validated task. https://tasks.hotosm.org/projects/12507/tasks/?search=760 Please always be very careful when deleting features. And always only stay within the task area when mapping. This changeset was reverted. Kind regards, Martien, global validator

| 119757505 | over 3 years ago | Hi, doing sanity checking project 12433 i noticed you mapped a building with layer=1. Only in exceptional cases a layer tag is added to a building. And this is not such a case. Please take care of this notice in future mappings. Thanks and please keep mapping. Kind regards from Martien, global validator.

| 119742861 | over 3 years ago | Hi, you requested a review of your mappings. Your buildings look ok. One remark though: you added a layer=-1 to one building. Layers are only applicable to eg bridges or tunnels. Besides that, for buildings mapped via HOT we only have to map building=yes. The fine details are left to local mappers. Thanks for contributing and please keep mapping.

| 120569635 | over 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to HOTOSM. You requested a review of your mappings. Thanks for mapping, but please square your buildings after tagging them by pressing ‘q’ on your keyboard. Also be more precise in tracing the footprint. You added a name to several buildings. As a remote mapper we only map buildings as building=yes. Details will be filled in by local mappers. Thanks for your cooperation. Kind regards, Martien, global validator

| 120600801 | over 3 years ago | Hi Kajal, You requested a review of your mappings. Please avoid mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately. Zoom in as close as possible to see the outline of the buildings, hit each corner of the building carefully. Look for shadows, open ground, changes in roof color and vegetation to differentiate buildings. You can hold the Alt-key to disable point snapping. Also please square your buildings after tagging them by pressing ‘q’ on your keyboard. And to improve for next time, please zoom in close enough when tracing to avoid buildings sharing nodes or else overlapping. Kind regards, Martien, global validator

| 120599503 | over 3 years ago | Hi Kajal, You requested a review of your mappings. You mapped features in this project when not asked to. Please remember that we are only mapping buildings in this project. This is detailed in the project instructions. Humanitarian organizations set the features to be mapped based on their priorities - any time spent mapping other features might slow down the completion of their projects. Please keep this in mind in your future mappings. Thanks and kind regards, Martien, global validator
