| 150046475 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings. You mapped fields as buildings here. This is understandable, sometimes it is hard to distinguish buildings on imagery. What you can do next time is to look for shadows, open ground, changes in roof color, size of the shape on the imagery. Zooming in and out can also be helpful. Thanks so much for your contribution, Martien, HOT validator.

| 154241530 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings. The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon. Then check (again) if the outline of the squared building still matches the outline that you see on the imagery. Thanks so much for your contribution, Martien, HOT validator.

| 154200404 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping. You requested a review of your mappings. Your buildings are well mapped. Good location, square corners and precise outline. A few buildings are snapped to each other. To improve for next time, please zoom in close enough when tracing to avoid buildings sharing nodes or else overlapping. You can hold the ALT key to prevent this happening. Thanks and regards, Martien, HOT validator.

| 154217770 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping. You mapped buildings here, but unfortunately the y are quite off as to their shapes. The urban area you are in here is very complicated to map. This is best done with the advanced editor JOSM. My advice is to choose an area that is less crowded with buildings. That way you can build up experience and later on switch to more complicated areas. Thanks so much for your contribution, Martien, HOT validator.

| 154219520 | over 1 year ago | Hi, you requested a review on this changeset. Buildings are well mapped and/or improved. You can improve more by avoiding mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately. Thanks for mapping and regards from Martien, HOT Global Validator

But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Zoom in as close as possible to see the outline of the buildings, hit each corner of the building carefully. Look for shadows, open ground, changes in roof color and vegetation to differentiate buildings. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon. | 154084028 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for the feedback. I was not suggesting/saying all the buildings were unsquared. There is one, so therefor my advise. Checking a few other changesets done by you i see buildings are squared, so i guess i just stumbled upon an exception. As to the overlapping buildings: this does happen more often though. See eg changeset https://osmcha.org/changesets/154040205 I guess it is a bit hard to see visually in iD Editor. I am using JOSM, that contains validation tools that flags these issues. iD Editor suggests to add a layer in case one feature overlaps another. That makes sense when eg a highway overruns a waterway. The highway should get a layer tag (and a bridge tag). But for buildings that is not the case, buildings hardly ever overlap each other. So the suggestion iD Editor gives is misleading. "Repositioning" should be happening here. Regards, martien |
| 154062298 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping. You requested a review of your mappings. Your buildings are well mapped. Good location, square corners and precise outline. There is one exception though: a building with unsquared corners and with a tagging like name=Building. Unlike you know the name of the building (eg. "My Sweet Home", visible eg on a sign post), do not use that tag. Thanks and regards, Martien, HOT validator.

| 154062341 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings. The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon. Also, please avoid mapping buildings that share nodes. If buildings need to be adjusted or improved later on, it is much harder to do that if they share nodes with nearby features. And please avoid buildings overlapping each other. Always map them separate. Please watch these 2 short video for more info:

Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon. Also, please take care not to overlap neighboring buildings. In this changeset you "solved" the resulting warning given by iD Editor by adding a layer tag. But instead you should retrace the affected buildings so that they do not overlap anymore. Please watch these 2 short video for more info:

| 152240945 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping. I notice you added a layer=1 tag to this highway. And also to a few other highways in this area. Afaics there is no reason that these highways have layer tags. Please recheck your mappings (HOT project #16556), specific as to these layer tags. Thanks so much for your contribution, Martien, HOT validator.

| 152959251 | over 1 year ago | Hi, thanks for mapping. The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the fact that overhanging trees can distort the outline of a rectangular building. Also one building is sharing a node with a highway. Thanks so much for your contribution, Martien, HOT validator.
