More Data, Fewer Changed Tags

heres my thinking :)
highway=path is a thin grass/dirt/ash,/grit/bark/ way you can walk on car no. bike sometimes tag to tell, horse tag to tell
highway=footway, is a more upgraded path
highway=track is a sub road, mostly grit or gravel covered, sometimes grass or mud

Ordnance Survey OpenData

yeah it will be great to has this extra data to help fill in gaps, but remember os data has errors in it too, a visit in person is still better I would say.

os errors I have found are Pylons on wrong side of roads, Hills with wrong names and heights ect.

Cluttering town with 'hospitals'

Yeah buildings would help here, but its looking good, there seem to be a lot of tertiary roads here, would some of these roads not but tracks or unclassified roads.

things that bug me:leisure=stadium with building=*

How to mark non-existant roads....

if we are going to do this then it has to be right
it has to be tagged which type of highway it is/should be /made up to be
so I would go with

highway=motorway (or what ever kind it should be)
highway:false=yes means no render
if this tag is missing then its taken as true (saves going round every road again tagging highway:true=yes

it could also be
highway=motorway (or what ever)
highway:exist=yes/no

Walking-papers vs Geotagged Photos

you could try an audio back up, but you might not make it to the end of the street if you walk down there talking to yourself, I do audio recording in the car its been very good sofar, only thing is you cant play the radio as the same time :)

Roundabout sanitising

I ve started to review all roundabouts that I have done and tweeked them.

as rule I now add the tage lit= yes/no to all highways/round about/ it maybe used in the future to show a map of all the lit and unlit roads on a map.
