Post When Comment
Little Downham and Mepal, via Coveney and Wardy Hill, Cambridgeshire

I would tag
highway=track
access=permissive
foot=yes
bicycle=yes
motorbike=yes
horse=yes
lit= (prob no ) :)

Diary Entry

anybody?

Supermarkets not displaying properly

looks good but I would still tag the building with the rest of the building tags to do 3d render, and do an address point for the address info. :)

Instantaneous rendering

yeah its very fast, great work.

mkgmap now supports sea polygons

looks great , much better

cant get into map

well no joy ...yet they have metal posts that come up in the road and the office was empty so could not ask to get in with car, but I might just walk in next time.

Let's talk buildings tomorrow night

I think the layer tag used with building would help if it was able to render the layer 1 over layer 0 or where there is no layer tag used.

so the tower would be building=yes layer=1
other building next to it building=yes layer=0

but just now that does nothing.

Let's talk buildings tomorrow night

I have started using the tags building:height building:roof:shape building:roof building:use and building:levels which are the 3d model tags used to make it so.

cant get into map

ok I try that later today :)

Deleting Unnamed Roads

keep them but yeah make service road, or maybe track and track_type=1 if you think thats better. the width tag also might be good to uses for future renders.

monopolycitystreets

yeah we came get some good PR rom this game i am sure

heres a comment from them about what going on...

The biggest land grab of 2009...
We ANTICIPATED an opening rush when we launched the Monopoly City Streets online game, but the first few hours have surpassed even our greatest EXPECTATIONS.
We are in the process of increasing our firepower and expect to be running more smoothly within the next several hours.

Thanks for your patience as we work as fast as we can to resolve this and get everyone playing and trading on Monopoly City Streets.

What's going on?
So then... today has been a rather busy day to say the least. We appreciate your enthusiasm to try Monopoly City Streets. Thank you for your patience as we work behind the scenes to make the necessary changes to accommodate the traffic to the game.

We had planned for a lot of traffic on launch day and had been load testing the game - in fact, we've been testing and optimizing for a whole month. However, between the enthusiasm of Monopoly fans around the world, everyone who was excited to try out the new experience and non-stop mentions of the game on Twitter, blogs and everywhere else, our servers were overwhelmed. Based on the stats we have, we show a daily rate of about 1.7 million unique visitors, but the figure is likely far higher.

Please be patient as we work to make the necessary changes. In the meantime, if you'd like to help us design a building for the game, see an earlier posting about the SketchUp contest. And, if you'd like to follow us on Twitter, our official address is: MonopolyCitySts

Thank you again for your patience!

driven to details

yeah I have added lit=yes/no to roads, paths,and carparks, also now adding fee=yes/no to car parks house numbers ach not that hard to do once you start ;)

Healthware & OSM-Atlas both at v1.0

that healthware works great, you could add dentist, doctors and atms, phonebox, have saved it on my phone ta.

Rural footpaths: Public Rights of Way

see if this helps
To get round no path on the ground use tag trail_visibility=poor
and yes use surface=grass part of the clydewalk way is over open grassfields with cows the sign points at the start into the field but its your own course you take to the other side and pick up the next sign I have tagged
highway=path
surface=grass
trail_visibility=poor
lit=no
source=survey
plus its part of the full relation of the clydewalk way

the map that you can buy just stops and leaves you wondering which way to go, but know from local-know thats its across the field and you pick up the next sign there.

effort for nothing

on the ground gps track win all the time,
proper maps you can buy for my town are wrong sending you down streets that are nolonger through roads, and ones look like you cant walk/ cycle from but have paths joining to other streets, thats what you get without eyeballing the street.

terrible site

and wrong in places

House tracing is hard work

looks good I have been adding house numbers too, but not sold on the use of addr:housenumber for shops and garages ect, it really should have been addr:number or addr:pointnumber , but using addr:housenumber for now :)

Bridleways

yeah I am adding the horse=yes/no tag to my edits past and present :)

Lamp posts (tagging question)

I now use lit=yes lit=no on all road/track paths and have added the tag to roads ect I have done before I started to tag lit. It could be used to show a map with lit streets and paths.

Routable Commons

yeah map path in park and join that to the road.and yeah put the boundaries as near to their right locations as you can.
