| just another day mapping away... | I started mapping Abruzzo years ago when there was nothing there at all apart from the motorways. I remember the first thing I added was the station and Viale Umberto I in Pescara, then the town of Penne and countryside around it. As it by magic, people saw that and started filling in the rest… Looking at it now, its amazing how complete it looks. I hope your problems don’t come from my mistakes learning to map in the early days (or from me trying to map from a little gps in a car - not very accurate on the (many) curves). |

| Hounslow 'finished'? | Yes, I'm subscribed. But the guy running it is having to screen-scrape each different council's site, so you can do as well from the council's own site. Tedious though, because it's only applications, and I don't really care about all the garden 'sheds' people are trying to build... marinheiro |

| postcodes!!!! | I wish I'd done that for my area - I'm just finishing off the last few streets, and have realised now I need to go back over it all again to do the postcodes; like mcknut's, they're on the street signs. Doh. |

| pre-mapping or not? | I'm glad it's not just me that gets bored following a pre-routed map. My compromise at the moment is to have a fairly close look at an area in yahoo before I do it, so I know where to expect most of the roads, and also where there are odd looking things that seem like they might be interesting to follow up on the ground - but not to take any printouts with me, so I'm mapping as if from scratch. Footpaths generally seem to lead to the most interesting things, and also to mess up any pre-made plans most - you often end up somewhere you didn't expect to at all :-) |

| Working on Website | What a nice website! I've been trying to build some stuff about Penne into my own house site (abruzzocasa.eu), but at some point will probably split that off and set up a separate site for central abruzzo - Penne, Atri, Citta Sant'Angelo etc. Do you cycle round Teramo? I have just been driving so far, at some point will buy a bike and brave the hills, tailing behind all the 10 and 90 years olds you see hurtling up the slopes... |

| Heathrow | If I'm doing the northern edge and 80n is doing the southern, that leaves the west - Stanwell Moor and Colnbrook - which aren't mapped at all yet. Guess we're unlikely to have anyone living around there. Plus how do we do terminal 5 - wait till yahoo gets the images in a few years? |
