| More Bing! coverage | History has showed that once we get decent aerial photos mapping can be done very quickly. At least for what can be seen from above. We will still need people on the ground for street names, POIs and such. |

| Need help: which osm apps to recommend? | My favourite is MapDroyd as you can download the maps in advance (instead of just caching). The maps are also vectors instead of bitmaps so they can turn. |

| Maps on HTC Desire | My suggestion (unless you're willing to pay for it) would be to use MapDroyd (it's available from the market). I have tested a few and most just cache bitmaps while MapDroyd downloads vector maps. |
