Pedestrians cross using the well-named crosswalks, not road intersections. In many places (like here in my city, Curitiba, Brazil) isn't the same to walk in the left or right side of the street. If the current routing engines are flaky, they should adapt then, it shouldn't the other way around. Also it's officially deemed as a good practice that one shouldn't map for the renderer, nor for the router. |
| 168424600 | about 2 months ago | Sidewalks are pathways themselves, walkers have the right of having their paths mapped as well as car users! In my opinion, when you use tags like sidewalk=yes/left/right you are just mapping sidewalk evidence, not the sidewalk itself, that is a path, that have it's own geometry and its own properties, and deserves to have it's own history - as it has in the real world. |

| 144587008 | about 2 years ago | No, I'm always using automatic upload, I'm pretty sure that I didn't change any settings, so probably it was a bug... |
| 144587008 | about 2 years ago | (the editing behaviour came from an algorithm, just to clarify) |
| 144587008 | about 2 years ago | hello, man!! Well, I totally agree with these recommendations! Actually, I'm not sure why Streetcomplete grouped those two editions like this. Maybe It's a small bug, also because I'm sure that I edited one on Friday and the other on Monday... But maybe at time of the second one I was offline... But thanks for the advice, even tough it came from an algorithm! |

| 132513505 | almost 3 years ago | Thank you for your kind considerations, I understood everything you said, and hope that this relationships improve in a possible future alongside the best for the mapping of Bolivia in general. With that being said can you point me some places or projects in order to me help a little with the mapping? I can also create Tasking Manager projects, to help on the mapping management. You can contact me by DM. Best wishes,

| 132513505 | almost 3 years ago | Well, I understand and respect the decision of the community, I can revert all my changesets there in Bolivia with no bad feelings! I was thinking that alongside with the invitation to do a lecture on the theme there were the approval of the community to map it. There are people of UMSA interested on this type of mapping, but I don't know the state of conversations amongst the OSM Bolivia. Well, respect for local communities always comes first, but I strongly disagree that there are no difference on drawing sidewalks as separate geometries, it's way more about the details that you can put there, like surface=*, smoothness=*, types of kerbs, width=* and so on, please give a look on my lecture: https://rebrand.ly/mapealivre_curso_acessibilidad3 (you can change "3" at the end of the link to see part 1 and 2). It's about detailed mapping for accessibility, that is a very important subject. I am currently working on a project to create a full-fledged pedestrian networks inventory, give a look, hope you like it: osm.wiki/Opensidewalkmap Best Regards,

| 132513505 | almost 3 years ago | No problem Julio it's always nice to meet an experienced mapper that takes care of the map! The issue with creating-then-deleting was on the account on mapping what was meant to be a public infrastructure, but then just after mapping I've realized the gate thus meaning that was actually a private area. Was a misjudgement. I was editing as a demonstration of sidewalk mapping, more details on the project: https://tasks.teachosm.org/projects/1501 , It is part of an activity coordinated with an equip from UMSA. Best regards,

| 129919681 | about 3 years ago | Hello, thanks for the interest!! The geometries were generated automatically with a piece of software that i've developed, but then each block is checked against the aerial imagery, then that's the reason i've put Maxxar as "source", as it was the "evaluation source"... But probably the best shall be source=osm_sidewslkreator here's a small video about the use of the software: https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxCxR1MTILIfCH3FokOKtO2uMWQvYsoSWM (also links to the repo, where there's also links for thr presentation at SoTM this year ;) ) |

| 126372985 | about 3 years ago | E nem todas as ruas possuem calçadas. |
| 126372985 | about 3 years ago | Então, a gente recebeu o aval da comunidade no OSM Brasil e no OSM Paraná, ainda em 2020. |
| 126372985 | about 3 years ago | Olá, você pode ter sua opinião, mas pra fazer uma exclusão desse tipo você deve consultar a comunidade antes!!! |
| 121391400 | over 3 years ago | Apertei o botão de enviar antes de terminar o texto de upload do changeset. (nenhum detalhe dos dados ficou faltante, apenas o comentário). O changeset é parte da etapa 1 da seguinte proposta de importação: osm.wiki/Curitiba/Projetos/Importa%C3%A7%C3%B5es/Cal%C3%A7adas Segue comentário gerado automaticamente, que poderá ser usado em importações futuras: "Sidewalks and Crossings created by the QGIS Plugin 'OSM SidewalKreator', the user was advised to check the resulting data before the upload #SidewalKreator #LabGeoLivreUFPR #mapealivreUFPR " |
