Changeset When Comment

It would be appreciated if you could elaborate on what you are actually doing in changeset comments, rather than just saying "Update".

According to railway=tram_stop, there has to be a tram stop for each direction. They are not like railway stations.

Valid example of tram stop: node/7498860477

Correction: The source should be should be existing OSM data. This is why I think we need multiple profile support on JOSM.

The motorway A26 doesn't exist, what is the source for that?

Source typo alert: it's actually Maxar Premium Imagery.

With all due respect, we have to balance legislation with what is really on the ground (osm.wiki/Good_practice#Map_what.27s_on_the_ground). For example, if the law specifies that the A642 is the A621, but the signs on the ground still say A642, then it has to be assumed that the renumbering has not taken place as expected. The same is the case with Provincial roads: there are many missing sections and section with a very narrow window of passage. I know it is not an easy thing to do, and sadly there are some things that have no single solution. For the maritime boundaries, that is hanzlan’s job. I only expressed an opinion based on what information is widely available.

If you are referring to ΦΕΚ 253ΑΑΠ/2015, then that has to be taken with a grain of salt because Mapillary imagery suggests the A24 south of Papageorgiou to be an expressway rather than a motorway: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=826090858115075 and https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=528993834779196

I concur with hanzlan. I haven't got around to mapping the current 6NM borders due to politically-influenced severe depression, which means I have to try and avoid political stuff.

Hi, could you please explain this change?

You have to be careful in preserving street lighting data (lit)=*. They exist for the safety of drivers, especially at night, and it is a valid tag.

Re: way/195530852, is_in=* is deprecated in Greece because it duplicates boundary relations. If there are any missing boundary relations, let us know at https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewforum.php?id=27 and we will see what we can do.

You do not need to use all of iD’s features. We regard No U-Turn restrictions (as I described earlier) as completely unnecessary. It is only needed if the "from" and "to" ways are different. The "via" entry can also be ways between the "from" and "to" ways, which can be useful at crossroads. For example: relation/5969794

At the end of the day, OSM is a live map, not a sandbox to test edits: we have a server for editing tests: see osm.wiki/Sandbox_for_editing

Hello, why is it necessary to add a No U-Turn restriction when the "from" and "to" way is the same? (e.g. relation/12521304) I am confident that it is not needed at all.

Also, duplicate church nodes were removed: amenity=place_of_worship can go to building=* and that should be sufficient.

What's the source for all those "cities"? As far as I can remember, the whole place is mainly desert with only a few quarry-related settlements according to satellite imagery.

Sorry, I mean if the "from" and "to" way are the same.

97434949 over 4 years ago

Hello, I do not think it is necessary to have a No U-Turn restriction if the "from" and "to" are the same.

If this is because of a router, then in this case they should fix that, not us.

101971427 over 4 years ago

I sadly do not find your explanation acceptable. It should be for the navigator to fix, if it isn't bringing up the destination tag when you think it should do so. It is OSM practice not to tag just to please navigators. Sorry for the rushed message, I am getting concerned about your increasingly unusual use of highway links.

101971427 over 4 years ago

Hello, I am not happy at how you tag exits from roundabouts as a link, as you did at way/923715785. No other country does this.

I am getting very concerned that with the A1 tagging between Gefyra and Kleidi, you seem to be wildly experimenting with the map without considering the impact on the users. if in doubt, we should just take cue from how the British Isles does it (UK and IE).

102504849 over 4 years ago

Only the slip roads should be *_link for a main road like that. In my opinion, the A1 should be trunk because it has not been upgraded yet.
