Ich hatte eben einen Deiner Edits in Kanada kommentiert. Bei diesem CS fiel mit auf, dass Du amenity=food_court für die Lounges verwendest. Damit ist eigentlich etwas anderes gemeint (amenity=food_court).

Es ist sehr wichtig, die Dinge mit den richtigen Tags zu versehen, damit diese dann auch für den Endnutzer nutzbar werden.

Für Airline Lounges habe ich noch kein passendes Tag gefunden, insofern soll das kein Vorwurf sein. Ich will Dich nur ein wenig dafür sensibilisieren.

Ich schicke Dir per PN noch ein paar Links. Am besten Du liest Dir einmal alles durch, damit Du verstehst, wie OSM funktioniert.

I am writing this in English as you have edited in Canada and the Canadian community needs to be able to read this as well (ich spreche auch deutsch, aber wenn Du international mappst, nutze bitte englische Kommentare im Changeset).

I stumbled across this edit as you have added another airport to the existing airport. Before editing, please check all objects if some object already carries the main tag. In this case it is this node node/1042031333.

Please do some more reading into how OSM works. I will send you some useful links via PM.

With addr:placename=* you introduced a completely new tag here way/543642600 which is not used anywhere else on the planet. Usually we only use the addr:* namespace for items that actually have an address.

Also I am trying to figure out the reason for layer=* in the park...

Hello Abhyankar and thank you for adding the mentioned data. Please keep in mind that, in order to make data useful to other people, you have to tag objects according the OSM wiki (osm.wiki/Main_Page). Otherwise your entries can not be read by software using the OSM database.

The Tags are case sensitive, so I have adjusted Diesel and CNG to the way it is documented in the wiki (fuel=*). Can you check how much octane the petrol has and add it as well according to the wiki?

I fixed a typo in this hedge way/785226172 and the one beside it.

Just out of curiosity: the key "hedge:width=*" is only used 24 times around the globe (https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/search?q=hedge%3Awidth). Wouldn't it be smarter to use width=*?

Concering the values: Watch out for differences in "." and "," as these are interpreted differently by software.

Hier ist etwas schief gegangen: Ein Fussweg wurde von Dir mehrere hundert Meter verschoben. Ich habe es repariert.

Sei bitte auch so nett, Dir genau anzusehen, was schon gemappt ist. Wir erfassen alles nur einmal. In diesem Fall ist die Schule bereits hier way/180577874 erfasst. Ein Gebäudeteil bekommt dann nicht noch einmal den Schulnamen. Ich habe den entsprechend wieder entfernt.

Your're welcome :-) The OSM community (which means mainly people doing this in their spare time) is trying to keep the quality high over a long time.

Google which (unlike OSM) is funded by people paying for being displayed on some map or search result is offering their customers (!) to adjust their businesses' settings to e.g. temporary opening hours. So it's less community driven and of course based on endless money and computing power.

To cut it short: yes, your idea to get that temporary data from some external source and use OSM as the background should be the better way.

Please observe that we generally do not add temporary data. The German community has agreed on not adding any COVID-19 specific data to objects in OSM (please refer to the forum thread https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=68908) as things are changing too quickly and the added data will not be maintained on the long run.

Apart from COVID-19 you may of course help us to improve data by referring to the wiki for proper tagging (osm.wiki/Main_Page)
