Changeset When Comment
76255698 about 6 years ago

why are all these changesets appearing without a created_by tag such as
created_by JOSM/1.5 (15390 en)
used for the correction of this, obviously produced by a buggy editor, but with no clue as to which?

76261953 about 6 years ago

the preferred way to carry out such an edit is to use JOSM and the plugin, replace geometry.

this allows you to draw accurate outlines, then to copy the history and tagging from the poor outline, which preserves the object history, still giving credit to the original mapper as is the standard practise in osm, not to delete an object and lose its history.

osm.wiki/Keep_the_history

you have also deleted building way/739603307/history which is clearly visible in the latest maxar imagery as well as the two nearby pools. has this building been recently demolished, or is it still standing, and have the pools been removed and filled in, or are they just not open for public use as implied by the associated notes such as note/1977516 ?

you are failing to map buildings properly, and are making incorrect changes to them here.
https://osmlab.github.io/osm-deep-history/#/way/472248851 will show the bowling alley whose nodes, previously correctly mapped by rivermont to match the building outline, have been moved well outside their correct position to include the car park which is not part of the building.

the same is true of the nearby library at https://osmlab.github.io/osm-deep-history/#/way/472248878 which has twice far exceeded the actual building footprint and now engulfs a parking aisle service drive into the carpark, and the car wash in the same area.

i suggest you revert these three buildings back to their previous geometries.

This changeset has been reverted fully or in part by changeset/76537785 where the changeset comment is: nuke bogus maps.me private residence castles with personal data

76260981 about 6 years ago

by leaving the tourism=apartment tag present, a search for a FeWo will still return this in the results.
changing the name alone does not give any hint to a search engine.

76242208 about 6 years ago

the name however should not be in ALL CAPS unless it is an acronym, but should be written in mixed case as `Siya Cuisine'

ich glaube, `descent' ist falsch-autocomplete; `decription' passt besser.. aber noch besser, `description'. stupid kezboard.

addr:floor as part of a complete postal address is in fact used in some places; an example i know would be a block of flats in danmark, which also includes an additional field to indicate whether the particular address location can be found to the right or to the left. this would be appropriate to keep in addr:* as it is in fact used for postal addressing and delivery.

i do not recall seeing any such designation on swiss addresses, with centrally-located postboxes, although i vaguely recall seeing something for one particular business, but it could be my dementia acting up again, and while not needed for post delivery, may be useful for in-person visiting, to know how many flights of stairs need be conquered.

75737290 about 6 years ago

the first node below i pulled up was not tagged as you described at any point in its history as zoo=enclosure, but as a duplicate tourism=zoo which is incorrect.

i have not checked further past this one.

glad you made this comment to verify your observation - i wanted to suggest the same but the osm website seems to have gone partially pearshaped, giving me a blank page attempting to reply to the personal messages this changeset originated, not to mention a severe case of auto-logout-itis (mentioned by others in https://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=67797 ) that does not appear to be tied to inactivity or anything, as i'm getting regularly logged out several times per hour while actively posting updates, as well as every time i take a water break from hard labour and check recent osm activity at the same time. very annoying, and a recent development that is probably the reason i can't reply to you, as i keep tabs open for a while before acting on them.

as a result of your in-person survey, nothing more need be done here. thanks for making the effort.

another thing is the typo in `name Raiffeis*T*enbank Automat'

76143302 about 6 years ago

without giving too many secrets away, for one thing, the time the eastern-european seo spam drones added it. it's morning my time, but corresponds to late night in the timezone of the addition.

i feel free to reveal this because it will cause the ukrainian spam farms to have to keep abnormal hours to dump their rubbish into notes undetected, with a present burst during my morning hours that i hope to swat before you septics get out of bed. except for the west-coast insomniacs.

there are many other signs i won't discuss here. mebbe i throw a private message your way.

what is this soup of pointless hashtags supposed to mean?

osm changeset descriptions, as well as comments thereto, are meant to describe what you have done or your intentions, for other mappers to understand.

i am totally unable to parse anything meaningful from this gibberish.

maybe i have gotten out of the wrong side of bed this morning, but this is bollocks.

another thing,
you have tagged node/6026625888 , a point, with the name 7th drive. this is unusual for a drive to be named by a point, itself being a part of three named (differently) drives.

75804539 about 6 years ago

two things:
osm uses the spellings as used in blightly, so if this were to be documented, the appropriate spelling for inclusion into osm would be `centreline'.

second, how does this differ from segregated=yes, which is implied by a painted line and sign akin to osm.wiki/w/images/thumb/a/aa/120px-Zeichen_241.svg.png/100px-120px-Zeichen_241.svg.png ?
is the segregation implied by your centre line to separate directionality, rather than to separate tranport modes? i see you have explicitly specified segregated=no, meaning there is no separation between foot and cycle traffic.

that would be 80-year-old virgin, you young google whippersnapper.

my advanced dementia caused me to repeatedly typo openedstreetmamps above. o tempora, o mores. for the lack of an edit button my ruined reputation is.

where's the GDPR Article 8 implementation at openedstreetmamps, requiring parental consent before these children are allowed to play with the adults? would probably cut down on the pokémon vandalism and general bad mapping too.

see also my comment to changeset/72743845 .

i thought i had posted a detailed analysis, but apparently i shortened that into a vague commentary about how the name and language are invented based on some game using osm data. now i regret not writing the full details at the time. i'd think a google search today for the language would return similar results to three months ago, unless someone has attempted to further game the system.
