servus,

i'm too tired to think straight but i think you have added riverbank-equivalent tagging to the restored way, v8 below, as i see bits of woods in it. that way being the outer, it will be rendered as solid by whatever tags it has, and the inners of its multipolygon tagging if the same, will be ineffective.

this probably will not be detected by the osm inspector due to the different yet comparable tagging.

the other thing i think i checked, but maybe was looking at a stale page, is there seem to be far fewer inners, than the older relation, but i suspect you just haven't gotten around to that yet, as opposed to the tagging that you did add and i felt was worthy of mention.

am i making any sense without sleep?

wait a minute, from https://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=73525180 i can see there were four grandstand child relations with further tags were deleted here, and i can't see them in the map data, even though you have made at least one more edit since.

good thing i am far too tired to do anything now.

i think the only thing you needed to do here was to delete the vandalism added over top of the stadium parts by way/714476238 .

although by starting anew, thus losing the contributions of the other mappers, it looks like things are nicely smoothly curved.

i've commented on this beginning mapper's lower quality edits, and as he went out of his way far out of his normal mapping area to apparently also throw a weak sexuality insult against this football club, i'll probably throw a heads-up to the DWG in the hope someone is able to work efficiently to review the one-item-at-a-time edits and comment further on wrong or poor mapping.

i don't know if i should restore the earlier state or just leave things as now.

what you have drawn as v1 here bears no relation to the aerial imagery, nor does it appear on the map. please take care to trace accurately what you wish to add, as jagged items or areas that differ from the real car park surface, do not help anyone to understand and use the map.

what you have mapped here is not a building in the aerial imagery, but a collection of storage tanks and should be mapped that way.

hallo,

can you please be more descriptive in your changeset descriptions? what you did that can be seen at https://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=73421354 is not something i can understand as anything but testing or deliberate vandalism.

in order to try and understand what happened here, i have been looking at some other poorly described edits, like your latest that say no more than `2019', and i can see you are not mapping very well, putting buildings that are obviously not, and failing to even come close to the shapes of items.

i see you are a new mapper, but please seek the help of your active brasilian community to improve your mapping.

hi jess,
i trust you know the p2 lower-right icon that will show polygon directions. i checked a few coastlines for fun, then a co-located polygon, and observed the latter differed in direction.

i wonder if it can be influenced by handedness, as it seems i tend to draw polygons opposite from most.

P1 has a similar but less obvious icon but at least the text popup makes it very clear so one only needs memorising the text that i've forgotten and know i'll guess wrong.

but anything with a validator for such things is optimal.

szia,

i have restored way/434850562

i have added as a second outer member to relation/9905661

however at the area of the snoring river, zoomed in at relation/9905661/history#map=17/53.01430/-118.07467 you can see it is not a closed multipolygon.

specifically, at one end, node/3706708328 and the nearby nodes do not appear to match the aerial imagery as a plausible riverbank, so i leave it to you to interpret what you intend to be a riverbank, and what of the two rivers to include.

at the other end, there is a bit of overlap, node/3706708113 is shared with the woods, but not the new riverbank to the south that is the other outer.

i will leave this to you, rather than attempting to armchair-fix it. similarly, do check that the rest of the riverbank matches your idea of reality, and fix as appropriate.

i have not attempted to transfer the many inners from the previous relation to the new one, again due to armhair mapping with the likelihood of preserving canvec errors from halfway around the world.

if you need further help or useless advice, don't hesitate to ask, and i hope my undeletion is useful here, even though i'm leaving things broken for the reasons above.

not quite true about the no complaints; i vividly remember a case of extreme vandalism around miami f-l-a, hitchhiked her way across the u-s-a, where an unsuccessful attempt to revert the deletions resulted in disconnected nodes without a way to join them.

the visual link i provided at the time made it clear these were not randomly-placed nodes.

ultimately i had to manually restore the many hundreds of deleted objects over many hours of work, and my cursing your deletions should be interpreted as general frustration that the vandalism had not been detected and reverted immediately, two or more months before i discovered it.

there is another case i am aware of around halifax, canada, that i have since learned to avoid, where it was visually obvious that someone had uploaded a detailed coastline, intended to replace the inaccurate low-resolution scrawl in osm. but something went wrong and it never reached completion. i left a changeset comment, but if these nodes have since been deleted by a mechanical edit, that makes it impossible for someone else to come along and finish the contribution.

that also brings up the case of buggy deletions carried out with a broken tool, and based on the misguided idea that private residential drives have no place in osm, which amazon logistics is now adding in a bigger way than collective free-time mappers. that set of buggy edits left the nodes while deleting the ways, and a simple revert to restore the deleted driveways would fail, as in miami, if a different edit were to wipe out the nodes.

i have not looked at anything in this changeset and with so large a bbox it would be futile.
