over 6 years ago | i would even go so far as to claim in some cases, like way/252570658 , before i restored the tagging a mapper presumably chose to use (i don't have a preset either way), the changed fixme had disappeared off the first screen and out of casual view of a mapper inspecting the item who could simply update the object against new imagery where available. tools don't update the map, mappers do, and in these strings of automated edits, all the few items i investigated, often with multiple passes, still were not correctly fully tagged as would have been obvious to a human mapper, others obviously wrong, the danger of automatically hiding a few obvious beginner errors without review.

over 6 years ago | it certainly is not where it is now mapped, for sure (it's been randomly moved). i prefer my life undeveloped, thank you. what does this advert copy word salad even *mean*?

over 6 years ago | good middle-of-the-night, with a wonderful moon here. after one of the most amazing sunsets i spent well over an hour watching when i should have been mapping. thanks for the update; i can confirm the area you have added is displayed viewing osm.org/#map=17/49.55191/-123.10189&layers=N . it will take some time until it appears at all zoom levels like the default for this changeset that is a low seldom-updated zoomlevel. in fact, viewing the link i provided and zooming out to z14 or z13, i see weirdness that i can only explain by realising at the moment i'm lacking 'net connectivity, so... back again. cheers...
over 6 years ago | i see nowt but 141. give it time, you have old cached tiles. no problems.
over 6 years ago | martijn, ganesh, i take it as a given that all amazon edits are powered by non-public gps traces, even though it's not stated explicitly here. it's not transparent to an arbitrary osm mapper-checker and probably should be stated explicitly. then again, the last edits i've made using aerials in p2, i've followed the general pattern of cycling through the available imageries, picking the one best meeting my needs, and promptly forgetting to provide credit. thus i would like to thank kevin for up-to-date imageries in general (offer not valid in parts of canada), mapbox for delightful aerials for much of the us of a, esri where their contributors surpass the alternatives like native z23 imagery in small bits of hawaii, bing at z20, bing at z19 preserved by esri clarity even if a decade old. and bing in canada where everyone else is years behind. this doesn't even list more local sources, and i think i've lost the plot, but i want to give a huge thanks to all providers i've failed to credit. or something.
over 6 years ago | first, never use google mapping products in any way for osm mapping. lose them from your source. punkt. aus. second, changeset comments are the preferred public way to report and discuss your edits. what goes out-of-sight is invisible to me and dozens of other users who have nothing better to do than make sure you and thousands of other users actually stick to the rules.
