in the two i checked above, i would not have tagged them as osm driveways, which i understand to lead to a private residence (my interpretation may be wrong) and not to provide public the access to a carpark.

please only map what exists in reality. i know without even checking there are not two buildings, one nearly 1000km long, in the water here. they have been deleted.

great. i know things can change a lot over, what, fifty, sixty, seventy years, not to mention that obviously alzheimers has taken a heavy toll that i cannot in the least recall any access restrictions posted back then, not that i would have paid attention. could not even remember just whereabouts is/was unpaved and one had to be careful to avoid muck strewn about by the horse-drawn carriages hurtling past, whilst heading to catch the tram near today's burns park.

there are also items which can be seen to have been shifted significantly, as per https://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=65857833 such as what must now be an isolated power substation.

as the above url appears not to provide a scale or background zoomlevel for distance reference, i can only guess that the imagery used differed from that previously used by nearly the size of what must be a pretty substantial substation.

to the northeast of that it is obvious that parts of ways were given this offset shift and not the whole way which ends up at its old position.

i'd say this changeset offers too much damage and should be reverted, although i would like to know the reason for shifting so many objects by so much in addition to so many deletions. and at the moment i'm weary of reverting without a good explanation.

on a technical note, no, the names have not been `redacted' as such, as they are still visible in the osm history of the objects.

a redaction can only be carried out by the Data Working Group, as in the recent redactions yesterday or so performed by mavl on copyrighted here maps data added to osm.

if you feel this personal data, as is common in many countries like nepal, should be purged completely from the object, then contact the DWG. if you feel it is not worth the bother, then to say it has been deleted or reverted, not redacted, is technically correct.

you may also ask the DWG whether this information should be in fact redacted. given how much private information has already been mapped, i cannot guess at their response.

basemap.at is one of the many sources listed and visible at
https://github.com/osmlab/editor-layer-index
which is automagically loaded by the main osm editors.
i have not searched the source deeply enough to locate the individual licences for each entry that months ago i thought i saw in the issues or source.

the contents of this data source can be assumed by mappers to be available for use as background imagery and acceptable for tracing into osm.

this is not always the case; i can think of one example i shall not name. but if you have doubts about any entry on this list, the course of action to take is to cease and desist with harassing mappers acting in good faith, and to open an issue for this repository on github about a particular entry in the list.

if anything in this text is incorrect or dubious, then seek an explanation from the repository maintainers rather than from the mappers.

and note that the attribution requirements are adhered to by only a tiny fraction of mappers, knowingly or not. i look at them mostly as an aid to other mappers to follow the workflow and reproduce the circumstances in which the mapping was done. but then, i am a secret unknown member on behalf of the Data Werking Grope (occasionally known as the DaWeGee or ƊШƓ) and have no connection with the Legal team that handles these sort of issues.

you may also seek redress from the authors of the software; editor iD has been patched to automagically (and apparently sometimes erroneously) list the used background layers, and i know JOSM can do the same from all the frustrated comments i read where it has done so wrongly.

in that case, it should be correctly tagged, as to label it an alpine hut is misleading and does not contribute to the accuracy of osm, so whether that adds to better coverage is debatable.

there is also nothing at this point, it is too close to the road to be useful.

what would contribute the most would be to draw the outlines of the condominium, and tag it correctly, as obvious wrong tagging is more likely to cause it to be deleted as probably fictional.
