Hi,

I see that you're removing bicycle=yes from paths like way/494106349. Are you trying to indicate that bicycles cannot use them? If so, you'll need to change them to highway=footway and do bicycle=no, otherwise bike routers will still use them

Hi,

When you saved this changeset, there was a warning about roads crossing other roads. Please pay attention to those warnings and fix them. If two roads or paths cross each other, they must be connected so routers can use them correctly. Thanks!

Hi,

For water bodies with islands, please use multipolygons rather than drawing the area incorrectly. See osm.wiki/Relation:multipolygon#iD for how to do that. Thanks!

Yep, just fix it in a new changeset

Hi,

Thanks for contributing! I can see a couple of small issues that need to be fixed: This crossing (way/1086459228) overlaps the road without a crossing node, and there are a few sidewalks around here (osm.org/#map=19/42.93268/-85.65102) that are not connected to the roads. If you could fix those, that would be great!

Hi,

On way/17776916 you named a road Unknown. Please don't name roads if you don't actually know the name, it's confusing to everyone else. It's okay to leave the name field blank if you don't know, and it allows other people to fill in the name later. Thanks!

If the driveway exists, then there's no reason for it not to be mapped. Deleting known good data is considered vandalism/bad editing practice, so I'm going to have to ask you to put the driveway back, since it should be mapped. The fact that the other driveways aren't there just means no one has taken the time to do it yet, it doesn't mean you should delete someone else's work.

Also, worrying about the how the "map" looks is called mapping for the renderer (osm.wiki/Good_practice#Don't_map_for_the_renderer). OSM is not really a map, it's a database for maps, and the individual maps will decide if they want to show driveways or not, it's up to us as OSM contributors to give them as much data as possible to make them better.

Hi,

What do you mean by "unnecessary driveway"?

Hi,

Thanks for contributing to the map, however, street names should not be abbreviated. Would you mind changing Roberts Rd to Roberts Road, please?

Hi,

Roads do not need street names specified in addr:street, the name field is enough. Could you please remove that? Thanks!

Thanks, could you also remove the layer tag on the sections that aren't underneath the building?

124742259 over 3 years ago

right, but the oneway tag prevents anyone from going up to the viewpoint

Hi,

On way/17941952 you set layer=1, which effectively means the road is on top of the building. The correct way to do roads going through buildings is to split the road where it meets the building, and add `tunnel=building_passage` to that section of the road. Would you mind fixing that please?

Hi,

Are you sure that way/1085402831 is the correct direction? The starting node doesn't connect to anything else so there's no way to use it right now

124708705 over 3 years ago

great, thanks! Yes, it's the total number of lanes of the road

Reverted in changeset/124748213

124743647 over 3 years ago

Yeah, that's fine either way, I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't a typo and that it wasn't something more common. I would say that using the `university_of_chicago` prefix will be more clear to everyone else and prevent confusion down the road

Hi,

Please always mark people's backyard pools with access=private so others don't think they're public use. Thanks!

Hi,

what is the "uc:type" tag used for? It's not documented anywhere and I'm wondering if there's a better tag
